Position Overview:-
We are looking for a Senior Shopify Developer to support the Shopify Enterprise ecosystem and related digital commerce initiatives. The developer will work closely with internal technology, digital commerce, design, and business teams to support ongoing platform enhancements, backend customizations, integrations, troubleshooting, and agile sprint-based delivery.
You will deliver frontend development on an enterprise Shopify ecosystem for a major North American retail client, working inside their agile Scrum teams in a staff augmentation model. Your focus is storefront quality: theme development, customer experience enhancements, and dependable sprint delivery in EST-aligned hours.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Develop and enhance Shopify Enterprise storefront features using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Build and maintain Online Store 2.0 themes, sections, and JSON templates against specifications from client design and business teams.
- Implement checkout extensibility and customer experience improvements across the purchase journey.
- Translate design handoffs into responsive, accessible, cross-browser storefront experiences.
- Connect storefront features to the Shopify Storefront API and platform apps where required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve storefront defects and production issues within agreed timelines.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives, in EST-aligned hours.
- Document your implementations and communicate progress, blockers, and requirement changes clearly to client-side stakeholders.
What You'll Bring:-
Required:-
- 7+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years of hands-on Shopify, Shopify Plus, or Shopify Enterprise work.
- Advanced Liquid theme development skills, including Online Store 2.0 architecture.
- Strong CSS and JavaScript fundamentals, with production experience in TypeScript.
- A demonstrated record of taking direction well: you confirm your understanding of instructions, implement stakeholder feedback accurately, and adapt when requirements change mid-sprint.
- Experience supporting production storefronts, including debugging, defect resolution, and release support.
- Clear written and spoken English, and the ability to work EST-aligned hours with North American stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:-
- Checkout UI extensions and Shopify Functions experience.
- Headless commerce or Hydrogen and Storefront API experience.
- Performance optimization for commerce storefronts, including Core Web Vitals.
- Enterprise agile delivery using JIRA, Confluence, and GitHub.
Good-to-have skills:-
- Experience with checkout extensibility.
- Experience working on Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify migration or post-migration support.
- Experience with performance optimization for digital commerce platforms.
- Experience coordinating with distributed teams across North American time zones.
- Exposure to QA collaboration, release management, and technical documentation.
Working Model:-
The selected developer will work remotely from an offshore location while aligning with EST working hours.
Ideal Candidate Profile:-
The ideal candidate is a senior engineer with 7+ years of software development experience and strong Shopify Enterprise expertise. They should be able to operate independently, communicate clearly with client-side stakeholders, and take ownership of assigned development work within an agile environment.
