Lab Manager

In this position of Lab Manager, you will be responsible of managing ATE engineering labs in BLR, with responsibilities in managing and overseeing lab personnel, lab equipments (ATE test cell, other lab equipment), and lab operations.  Candidate, in this position, will be responsible for managing and running day-to-day operations at ATE test-floors in Bangalore.  Candidate will support operation and maintenance of ATE Test cells (ATE testers, handlers, probers, various bench equipment) to support Operations, Engineering, and RnD departments.  The Lab Manager will interact with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all the processes and methods are in compliance and meet the requirements of the business and customers. 

Primary responsibilities will include:

1. Managing daily lab operations, maintenance of equipment, and overseeing lab safety requirements.
2. Work closely with stakeholders to identify technical gaps & support new product development activities.
3. Install & qualify various functional tester platforms & protocols for engineering & production readiness including:
   1. Gage R&R, Industry standard for automotive compliance.
   2. Establish test libraries, ATE HW performance tracking, etc. 
   3. Establish maintenance / calibration schedules and requirements
      1. Performing routine maintenance on test equipment and resolve technical issues
      2. Performing equipment calibrations periodically before equipment is deployed for use
   4. Establish Test Cell logistics and system requirements.
   5. Establish requirements / protocols for Test Cell usage and incident tracking.
   6. Establish appropriate Operator procedures.
   7. Define and establish lab safety standards and compliance to industry standards.
4. Plan and establish work schedules, staffing requirements, production sequences to maximize productivity.
5. Lab inspection data collection and record-keeping in accordance with ISO 9001 certification.
6. Develop work instructions, standard operation procedures (SOPs), control plans, safety standards and requirements, and visual aids for use of lab equipment and processes.
7. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and their application in laboratory equipment usage.
8. Generate and validate analytical lab reports that can be used for critical business decisions.
9. Strong time management skills including ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
10. Ability to identify and resolve technical and mechanical problems in a timely and effective manner.
11. Ability to make decisions related to lab operations & taking responsibility of the possible outcomes.
12. Lead, mentor, coach, hire, grow lab personnel, including setting goals and expectations and provide feedback and coaching.

• BSEE with minimum >5 yrs of managing and operating engineering lab experience.
• Experience in test equipment configuration and/or test lab supervision.
• Experience in manufacturing metrics and problem solving in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – energetic, motivated, and self-driven.
• Demonstrate ability to work well within a global team environment with minimal supervision.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills; demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong knowledge of factory operations, assembly and test operations.
• Familiarity with 5S, 8D, 6-Sigma, SPC, DOE, FMEAs.
