About your team
Our Business Development Team is responsible for the growth of our business by engaging with adviser firms to understand and meet their needs through the various platform solutions through Fidelity’s Global Platform Solutions business.
About your role
Reporting to the Business Development Sales Head for the North, the BDM is responsible for achieving and exceeding sales targets. Your specific responsibilities will include the following:
• Development and implementation of segmentation and sales strategies for the region. Ensuring sales targets are achieved by establishing strong sales and relationship management protocols and ensuring that sales and servicing activity is highly focused and productive.
• Responsibility for managing relationships with key accounts within the region and the development of business across the region.
• Developing strong personal relationships with key individuals at client firms.
• Applying a structured and proactive approach to account management, including use of CRM systems where available.
• Working collaboratively with other members of the team, including the Regional Platform Consultancy team and our Technical Team.
• Taking an active role in organising and delivering workshops and events.
• Providing feedback and market intelligence to assist in the development and evolution of Fidelity’s products, services and strategies for clients.
Your role with involve interaction with other stakeholders including:
- Other Regional BDM’s, Platform Consultants, Strategic Accounts teams and Account Managers
- UK Operations, call centre & customer relationships
- Fidelity Adviser Solutions Propositions, Marketing and Fund teams
- UK Finance
- Direct & Wholesale teams
- UK Compliance & Risk Management
About you
You will have proven Financial Services experience with a good understanding of the platform market and the competitor landscape. Key attributes include the following:
• In-depth understanding of the adviser marketplace
• Demonstrable success selling to advisers
• Strong technical ability and understanding of the application of trusts and the implications of choosing given solutions
• In possession of or willing to work towards the highest standard of industry qualifications
• Understanding of the developing UK platform and wrap market and the regulatory landscape as it affects platforms, asset managers and advisers
• Strong understanding and experience of the pensions market
• Understanding of the offshore bond market
• Commercial acumen
• Resilience to pressure
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with an ability to communicate with people at all levels of business (both internally and externally)
• Resourceful and a quick learner
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and understanding of business priorities
• Team worker
