Ribbon is looking for a proven sales network engineer to support the US & Canada Service Provider and Federal Government account bases. The Senior Sales Engineer (SE) will provide technical assistance to various sales teams and will have responsibility for demos, trials and proof of concept activity across the region. The SE will liaison with both the account as well as the associated account team to drive these demos and trials to completion. Day to day activities will include most of the following:
- Will be responsible to coordinate, lead, and perform lab/POC trials and where required design the installation of trial equipment for the Ribbon SIP Application Server and associated elements.
- Provide technical support to the various account teams to ensure that the best and most appropriate Ribbon solution is selected.
- Interface with Ribbon Product development to review and plan for customer requirements.
- Interface with customers and Ribbon engineering as issues arise, monitor bug fixes and track feature development in code releases and help ensure that the relationship between Ribbon and the assigned account is strong.
- Function as a SME on Ribbon products to the account teams in the covered region.
- Coordinate, lead and perform lab/POC trials and, where required, help design the installation of trial equipment.
- Provide technical support for sales presentations and product demonstrations. This includes assisting Pre- and Post-sales efforts within the assigned account.
- Coordinate and provide technical support to ensure that the Ribbon solution is selected.
- Provide answers to customer enquiries concerning system software and applications.
- Become the Trusted Advisor within target accounts, offering SME guidance on Ribbon solutions.
Skills & Experience:
- Highly desirable to have a thorough understanding and experience with Nortel/Avaya Application Server (AS) 5200/AS 5300 or Ribbon AS
- Thorough understanding and experience with Broadsoft AS, Metaswitch CFS/EAS, or one of the IMS TAS/MTAS vendors also considered
- 5+ years of experience with one or more of the above Application Server platforms - Required
- Experience with Polycom, Yealink phone configuration
- Thorough understanding of Voice over IP standards, applications, and practices
- Experienced and knowledgeable in the following areas:
- Voice: VoIP, Video, UC, IMS
- Voice Protocols: SIP, H.248, MGCP
- Security in NGNs: IPSec, VPNs, NAT/Firewalls
- Ethernet, IP, IP routing
- Hosted/cloud-based UC, IPBX and IP Centrex solutions.
- WebRTC, SIP, VoIP, and other wireline/wireless Voice Technologies,
- Virtual Machine concepts, Unix, XML
- Familiarity with NFV, OpenStack and Containers is highly desirable.
- Experience in the Telecom industry
- Hands-on skills with installing, running and troubleshooting trials and demos.
- Experienced with multiple configuration and debug interfaces – GUI, CLI, REST, API, etc.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients and partners at all levels.
- Pro-active approach to driving technical engagements, ensuring that any issues are escalated and managed to successful conclusion.
- Excellent team player looking to make a real impact with persuasive communication (verbal and written), presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Results orientated, self-motivated industry professional with a good sense of humor.
