With a strong focus on compliance oversight and regulatory change, you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure regulatory obligations are understood, risks are appropriately managed and regulatory change is effectively implemented.

  • Develop and deliver risk-based compliance monitoring and undertake second-line reviews of controls.
  • Provide oversight of incidents, breaches and remediation, including regulatory implications and reportability assessments.
  • Challenge risk and control assessments, treatment plans and control effectiveness across platform, administration and custody services.
  • Provide risk and compliance input into significant business and technology change, including platform releases and migrations.
  • Report material risks, compliance issues, breaches and regulatory developments to senior management and governance committees.
  • Support client compliance reviews, assurance requests and regulatory reporting.
  • Build strong relationships across the business while maintaining appropriate second-line independence and challenge.

What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate:

You’ll be an experienced Risk & Compliance professional with strong knowledge of the Australian financial services regulatory environment and the ability to translate complex requirements into clear, practical advice.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Strong experience in risk and/or compliance within financial services, ideally across wealth management, superannuation, platforms, custody or administration.
  • Sound understanding of regulatory obligations and regulatory change within the Australian financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience operating in a second-line risk or compliance function.
  • Experience with compliance monitoring, controls assurance, incidents, breaches and remediation.
  • The confidence to provide constructive challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong judgement and an ability to balance regulatory requirements with practical commercial considerations.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and written reporting skills.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What is in it for you?

This is an opportunity to take on a highly visible risk and compliance role within FNZ’s Australian business, working across complex wealth management, superannuation, administration and custody services. You’ll have exposure to senior stakeholders, regulatory change and significant business and technology initiatives, while joining a collaborative Risk & Compliance function with a broader APAC remit.

If you’re an experienced Risk & Compliance professional looking for a role where you can combine technical expertise, practical advice and genuine business influence, we’d love to hear from you.
