Job Description
Fixed term contract
In this role you will report into the Manager, Claims Operational Risk and will play an important role in the identification, treatment and mitigation of risk within the Claims business unit. You will use your knowledge of operational risk and compliance methodologies to identify risk and influence decision making. You will also play an important role in the identification of key themes and root causes relating to incidents and issues. You will also support change activities contributing towards implementation of requirements for both FAR and CPS230.
In this role you will:
- Deliver high quality and commercially conscious risk and compliance advice across the organisation to enable the business to be commercially successful whilst remaining fully compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide Line 1 risk support with incident management and regulatory reporting
- Closely partner with stakeholder to ensure control documentation is maintained, completion of controls assurance with findings related to internal controls are assessed and reported as required.
- Make sure appropriate Risk Management and/or Compliance reporting is generated and escalated as appropriate.
- Generate insights to support risk owners in appropriately addressing/managing key risks.
- Monitor developments in relevant professional fields and act as a source of technical guidance to resolve escalated problems and provide advice on the business impact of Risk Management and/or Compliance requirements (either generated externally by a regulatory body or from internal best practice).
- Manage relationships with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop appropriate solutions, to deliver a better service to the business.
- Continue to drive a culture of robust Risk Management and Compliance.
Qualifications
- Relevant academic qualifications, e.g. a university degree
- Experience in a relevant Risk Management and/or Compliance environment or similar
- Understanding of CPS230 and FAR
- Experience performing control assurance
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work as a team member
- Relevant analysis skills
- A sound understanding of the insurance industry
- Computer literacy and a good knowledge of relevant software
- Excellent written and verbal skills in order to articulate technical issues associated to work area.
