 About us

At GoCardless we believe bank payments are the best way to pay and get paid. We also believe that bank account data is a powerful tool to make better, faster decisions. We’re making it easy to use both- for businesses everywhere.

GoCardless is used for domestic and international payments by 85,000+ organisations and counting, processing more than $30 billion across 30 countries. We are headquartered in the UK, with additional offices in Australia, France, Latvia and the United States.

The role

Reporting to the VP, People Operations and Total Rewards, the role will act as a first point of contact for reward, delivering seamless, efficient day-to-day administration of our global equity plans and cash compensation (salary and variable pay). The role will also work closely with the Head of Reward, who is responsible for rewards strategy and design.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone with a proven track record in the reward space, who is keen to take a hands-on role and further develop their career in a growing central reward function. While a background in compensation or rewards is desirable, what’s more important is that you’re data-driven with a ‘can-do’ attitude and passionate about delivering great insights and experiences to our employees, managers and candidates.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the first point of contact for ad-hoc questions, data requests, benchmarking and all equity-related queries from employees, internal and external stakeholders
  • Support execution of annual salary review, incentive plans, equity awards and other events which impact compensation
  • Responsible for processing and ensuring the accuracy of all compensation data, including auditing, salary surveys, reconciling and updating large data sets
  • Equity administration - end to end administration of GoCardless’ global equity plans and support with seamless execution of equity-related transactions
  • Maintain BAU employee communications and documentation related to incentive plans and schemes (transaction documents, policies, employee guides, FAQs)
  • Support with other ad hoc rewards and BUA activities and projects in line with business requirements, as required

What excites you

  • All about the data - participating in benchmarking studies, corralling data from multiple sources (internal and external), cleaning and validating it, and getting it into a usable format for analysis.
  • Crunching the numbers - using data reactively to answer questions and proactively to test hypotheses, identify patterns and draw conclusions.
  • Telling the story - delivering not just data but insights that help our managers make better pay decisions.  You know facts and figures on their own don’t always give a full picture, and are able to guide users on how to interpret data meaningfully.
  • Build it, automate it - helping build tools, processes and systems to deliver high quality rewards programmes to our diverse global population, including training and supporting those who use them.

What excites us

  • Seasoned compensation experience with abilities of managing end-to-end equity plans
  • An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
  • Have experience working and making sense of people-related data - in any capacity, not necessarily as part of a people team
  • Be able to navigate and make sense of multiple, complex data sources - ideally on a global/multi-country basis
  • Be proficient using Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis - vlookup, pivot tables, etc
  • Be able to translate data into insights - you know that data on its own isn’t “the answer”; you view data with a critical eye, can identify its limitations and are able to draw meaningful conclusions
  • Bring a product mindset to your work - really thinking about how the audiences will use what you produce, and seeking to deliver an exceptional experience for them
(some of) The good stuff
  • Wellbeing - stay healthy with dedicated support and medical cover
  • Work away scheme - you can apply to work away from your country of residence for up to 90 days in any 12 month period (in accordance with our work away policy)
  • Adaptive Working - Our hybrid workplace model fosters collaboration and flexibility, with in-office days determined at team level
  • Equity - all permanently employed GeeCees receive equity so we can share in the success we achieve together
  • Parental leave - to suit everyone embarking on life's great adventure
  • Time off - generous holiday allowance, + 3 annual volunteer days, + 4 annual business-wide wellness days (‘GC Fridays’)
