Senior Research Assistant / Research Assistant (26270144)
To accelerate the translation of groundbreaking medical research into real-world applications, the Frontier Translational Medical Research Institute (TMRI) works to bring promising medical biotechnology discoveries from the laboratory to the public, focusing on translational research, product development, and eventually, commercialisation.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator or his/her delegate, the candidate will be responsible for scientific inputs, research and development, and project management, mainly stationed at the University’s research facility located at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks.
Responsibilities:
- Involve in vaccine research and development;
- Handle laboratory animals, including mice, rats, and guinea pigs;
- Assist with planning and implementing experiments;
- Analyse results and prepare experiment reports;
- Maintain detailed, signed laboratory notebooks;
- Comply with all biosafety regulations; and
- Support other matters in relation to the research projects.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or above from a recognised university in immunology, virology, molecular biology, or relevant biological sciences field;
- Experience with animal handling will be considered as an advantage;
- Possess knowledge in molecular cloning and expression of vaccine antigens, cell culture assay for neutralisation antibodies, flow cytometry analyses of T-cell responses, and nanoparticle formulation;
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills (English, Cantonese, Putonghua); and
- A passionate and dynamic individual who possesses strong analytical and interpersonal skills, is attentive to details, and is a self-starter with the ability to work independently under pressure.
The appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree or above in immunology, virology, molecular biology, or a relevant biological sciences field
- Knowledge of molecular cloning and expression of vaccine antigens
- Knowledge of cell culture assays for neutralization antibodies
- Knowledge of flow cytometry analysis of T-cell responses
- Knowledge of nanoparticle formulation
- Experience handling laboratory animals, including mice, rats, or guinea pigs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to work independently under pressure
