About our Team:-
Our Technology teams use cutting-edge technologies to build products and systems. We support the eCommerce team in building reliable, high-quality stores — going beyond automation and manual testing to ensure robust, scalable and customer-ready experiences.
About the Role:-
This position is for a senior individual contributor who combines strong manual testing expertise with significant programming skills to deliver test planning, manual testing and automated testing coverage using JavaScript, TypeScript, Playwright, and Selenium. This role ensures the on-time delivery of high-quality software products through hands-on test planning, execution, deep technical problem-solving and rigorous quality practices. As a senior member of the QE team, this role sets a high technical bar through the quality and depth of their own work and provides guidance to other engineers when needed, without formal management or team-leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities:-
Creating detailed test plans and test strategies for features and releases, identifying appropriate scope and risk areas across manual and automated testing.
Designing and executing manual testing for complex features where automation is not feasible or not yet in place, ensuring thorough coverage of functional and edge-case scenarios.
Developing and maintaining automated end-to-end (E2E) test scripts using Playwright and Selenium, applying strong programming skills to build reliable, maintainable test code.
Building and enhancing automated solutions for functional and non-functional testing, using existing tooling and frameworks and proposing improvements where gaps exist.
Investigating Production issues & incidents, performing root-cause analysis, and documenting findings to support resolution and prevention.
Collaborating closely with Development and Operations teams throughout the SDLC to ensure products meet requirements and quality standards, with tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
Sharing testing knowledge and best practices with peers, and providing guidance to less experienced engineers when needed, without formal mentoring or management responsibilities.
Continuously improving personal testing practices and contributing ideas for improving team-wide test processes and frameworks.
Requirements:-
8+ years of test automation engineering experience, with deep expertise in Software Developer in Test (SDET) roles and a track record of technical leadership.
BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required; advanced degree a plus.
Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for designing and building scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks.
Deep expertise in Playwright and Selenium for E2E testing, including cross-browser automation, API testing, and framework architecture.
Strong command of QA methodologies, including BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) with tools like Cucumber.
Proven experience designing and implementing performance testing strategies, with strong expertise integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives in test frameworks and processes, with measurable impact across teams.
Experience mentoring and coaching junior and mid-level engineers.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across multiple agile teams.
