PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The job exists to provide a leadership role in quality assurance for Elliott product lines of rotating machinery. This role will also mentor and guide Quality Engineers in their functions during project execution.
The Senior Quality Engineer will review specifications to ensure Elliott has the ability to comply with customer requirements, translate customer requirements into language Elliott Operations can use to fulfill these requirements, and compile documentation in the form of material test reports, inspection results, and other internal and supplier records.
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

A Master’s degree in engineering or industrial technology, CQE certification, and 10+ years in manufacturing quality assurance or other equivalent work experience is preferred.

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or industrial technology, two quality certifications, and 13+ years in manufacturing quality assurance or other equivalent work experience is accepted.

An Associate’s degree in engineering or industrial technology, four quality certifications, and 20+ years in manufacturing quality assurance or other equivalent work experience is accepted.

Accepted Quality certifications are CQE, ASQCQE, CQA, CQM, CRE, Six Sigma Black Belt, and NDE Level III.

Position requires a broad knowledge of standard measuring and non-destructive testing equipment and procedures used in manufacturing and inspection.

Position requires a good technical understanding of Elliott product lines including all standard inspections and tests performed.

Position requires a detailed knowledge of various industry standards such as the ASME code, American Petroleum Institute (API) standards, ASNT standards, and ISO 9001.

Proficient use of the English language, both written and oral, is essential.

Must be proficient with personal computers including applications for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Lotus Notes, Adobe, and Windchill.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / COMPETENCIES

Review requests for quotations from customers for Elliott comments and exceptions.

Recommend lead time and cost added impact for customer quotations in the areas of quality, inspection, and testing.

Represent Elliott at pre-contract coordination meetings for the areas of quality, inspection, and testing and discuss comments and exceptions taken with potential customers, convince customers to accept the proposed comments ort exceptions through technical or logical reasoning.

Write and submit contact deviation requests on quality requirements for submittal to customers.

Represent Elliott at pre-inspection meetings to establish customer requirements.

Develop and implement quality plans for complex products (non-standard products involving significant engineering).

Resolve customer complaints/concerns resulting from witnessed inspections and testing of Elliott products.

Plan, write, and issue procedures to meet the requirements of quality initiatives and Elliott’s internal processes.

Arrange for customers to witness inspections and tests per contract requirements.

Work to prevent recurring problems by recommending and initiating non-conformance reports and recommend drawing and process changes to improve quality and reduce costs.

Participate in design reviews and provide input on designing quality into the product.

Act as lead Quality Engineer for assigned areas and provide assistance and mentoring to other Quality Engineers.
