What you will do
You will be a key contributor to the design, development and implementation of Test automation for large scale, mission critical, access control and security systems applications. This position will focus on new development of test automation modules as well as maintenance and stewardship of existing automation modules. This position requires the ability to work under minimal direction in collaboration with a team of engineers to design and develop robust system solutions that meet defined system requirements.
- We’re a collaborative bunch, so you’ll contribute to all phases of the SDLC, from planning, development, testing and release
- You will work closely with Scrum teams to deliver products on time with quality
- You’ll also coordinate with the Architect’s to understand and maintain an in-depth understanding of the current and upcoming requirements for proposed releases
- We work in a fast-moving agile set-up, so expect to pitch in with other responsibilities from time to time
How you will do it
You should be hands-on working closely with your peers in software development, testing, and Architects in the company to deliver best of breed solutions with your technical expertise. You will be responsible for below critical functions in helping us design leading products
- The most desirable candidate would be a former software developer with automation experience who has transitioned into a QA role, or a seasoned QA Automation Engineer with software development skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to acquire, assimilate, and analyze data from multiple sources.
- Solid understanding on Quality assurance work for web and thick client.
- Support software engineering development of complex projects; Deliver engineering tasks at the project level; Organizes engineering work in a logical manner.
- Able to meet project plans for test automation activity of a project; prioritizing work to accomplish demanding changes.
- Automation of existing test plans, support of existing tools, and creation of new tools as needed. Develops and articulate automation plans for complex systems. Presents or makes recommendations on technical automation issues.
- Demonstrated aptitude in Software, Systems, and engineering including understanding and working knowledge of hardware software dependencies, in thick client/server as well as in web environment.
- Ability to operate and take initiative in an environment of ambiguity; holds themselves and team members accountable for a high level of performance.
- Continuously improve test processes and procedures
- To execute testcases where required.
- Able to co-ordinate and work in global team environment
- Stays abreast of technology developments and their potential impact and opportunities on the organization.
- Proactively identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to the automation engineering process.
- Applied expertise in continuous-integration and continuous-deployment models.
- Must be aware and able to work in Agile, Incremental or spiral development methodology
- Ensuring defects are raised and reviewed on a regular basis in the required timeframe
- Mentor junior team members
What we look for
Qualifications
- BE/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA
- Must have 5 - 8 years related experience in automation engineering activities with at least 2+ years Selenium development with Python or Java.
- Experience with GUI-based automation, as well as, data-driven and object-based testing methodologies
- Understands HTML and JavaScript for web-based automation
- Understands Unit and Integration testing
- Understands non-functional testing
- Experience with Git
- Ability to work exceptionally effectively in a team environment is required.
- Familiar with Automated deployment
- Self-motivation, tenacity, flexible and reliable in approach to work
Preferred
- Working knowledge in iOT domain and Security physical access control domain.
- Knowledge of scripting language, automation tools and frameworks.
- Working experience in Hardware Testing.
