Purpose:
Prepares complex bespoke, compelling proposals in alignment with client needs and company commercial strategy across a range of formats and deliverable types, as well as supporting additional initiatives and team training as needed.
Essential Functions and Other Job Information:
- Applies advanced knowledge of our integrated services and solutions, as well as commercial acumen to create and lead proposal deliverables from initiation to delivery, across text, slides, and spreadsheet formats. Understands, recommends, and incorporates latest and focused evidence in the proposal showcasing capability and experience.
- Collaborates with key scientific, operational, and commercial stakeholders to gather input for proposals, including leading calls to discuss proposal needs.
- Reviews client requirements, analyzes and interprets appropriate data and technical information from contributors to tailor proposal to client needs and associated budget.
- Contributes to ongoing development of library content.
- Conducts quality control checks for own work and peers.
- Regularly participates in departmental initiatives to support the Strategic Proposal Development team in addition to regular proposal responsibilities.
- Stays abreast of company’s differentiated solutions and offerings to work across service areas and optimize proposals.
- Mentors/trains junior/new employees as needed.
- Visible leader on the proposal manager team who willingly shares knowledge with peers in both formal and informal settings.
- CRO experience is required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
- Previous experience in at least two of the following areas (comparable to 8+ years):
- Clinical research industry role with writing responsibilities
- Proposals experience in a life sciences or technical field
- Experience in a commercial setting
- Scientific writing
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective project manager with strong attention to detail that can consistently deliver quality, on-time proposals while balancing multiple deliverables/priorities.
- Strong understanding of the proposal, drug development and commercialization process and can work across therapeutic areas and company offerings.
- Advanced writer and editor with advanced ability to efficiently develop compelling graphics for both text and slide deliverables.
- Creative and strategic thinker to proficiently translate and distill complex technical information into client-friendly proposals.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills to efficiently handle the rapid pace of proposal development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with and develop positive long-term relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to train/mentor new employees.

- Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
- Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
