Job Summary

A Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading a project construction team and the overall management of project direction, planning, completion and financial outcome. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for directing and mentoring on-site staff. The position requires business management acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as having strong communication and team building skills.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for the overall success of assigned projects, acting as the lead liaison between the client, design team, consultants, and subcontractors from preconstruction through closeout
  • Lead project strategy, staffing, and execution approach, ensuring alignment with client expectations, contract requirements, and company objectives
  • Oversee and guide all aspects of project administration, providing direction to APMs and PMs on change orders, document control, meeting management, and closeout
  • Own project financial performance from start to finish, including budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, and overall profitability
  • Lead all financial controls, including oversight of change orders, billing, receivables, and subcontractor financial management, ensuring accuracy and proactive issue resolution
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including delays, scope gaps, and claims, while leading resolution strategies with internal leadership and external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and repeat business
  • Lead and mentor APMs and PMs, providing guidance, oversight, and professional development while ensuring team performance and accountability
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects or serve as the lead on large-scale, complex projects, with full responsibility for delivery, financial outcomes, and client experience
  • Partner with field leadership to ensure seamless coordination of construction activities, quality standards, and schedule adherence across all phases
  • Drive high-level decision making in coordination with executive leadership, particularly on complex, high-risk, or high-visibility projects
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with contract requirements, company standards, and safety expectations across all assigned projects

Qualifications and Skills

  • Engineering, Construction Management or related bachelor’s degree, or possess equivalent years of related experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in interiors or high-end projects, preferably in commercial or corporate office spaces
  • Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements/jurisdiction, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings and other documents required
  • Thorough understanding of industry and New York Metro market
  • Understanding of construction contracts, retention and releases
  • 30-Hour OSHA
  • 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Certificate

Computer Systems


  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Procore (preferred but not required), and Timberline (preferred but not required)


Salary Information

  • To the extent this position is performed in California, the annual salary range for this role is $200,000 to 225,000.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in interiors or high-end projects (preferably commercial/corporate office)
