As a Senior Project Manager, your role will be to execute large strategic change initiatives within NN Bank. You will work with colleagues throughout the bank and broader NN organization, including the MT Bank members. Your main focus will be on complex initiatives with high impact, which are department- and value chain overarching.
What you are going to do
As Sr Project Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of the strategic change initiatives within Bank. You will enable the delivery of initiatives and help the Empowered Product Teams to deliver high impact work. You possess execution power by getting things done even without hierarchical mandate; use influence rather than control, are result oriented (are able to lead and support teams to realize strategic and complex change objectives) and you are excellent in planning but you know that success comes from execution. Next to that you have strong stakeholder management- and communication skills, and you have a clear focus on collaboration.
You show a high level of organizational sensitivity because of your deep under-standing of the underlying issues, opportunities and dynamics of the organization. This makes you are broadly accepted as a sparring partner and advisor. You have strong analytical skills and bring planning and structure to the initiatives. You can transform an innovative idea in an understandable story.
Your responsibilities
- Drive the execution of complex initiatives with a no-nonsense mentality and hands-on- and proactive approach.
- Set goals, budget and planning to deliver and realize various projects.
- Proactively keep relevant stakeholders informed in a timely manner about the progress of the various projects and keep them involved in the decision-making process by reporting on OKR’s, progress and KPI’s of strategic projects/initiatives.
- Guarantee expectations regarding risk and quality are shared and transparent, and address escalations regarding the project in a timely manner.
- Highlight key project interdependencies and align implementation plans with inter-dependent initiatives.

Who you are
Using your own initiative and ambition, you achieve excellent results. This is what you bring to achieve those results:
- Bachelor's or master's degree with at least 7 years of experience in the financial industry, with a proven track record in successfully managing change initiatives as a project manager.
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of project management, including business case development, executive stakeholder management, and finalizing the execution together with multidisciplinary and agile teams to achieve planned results in a complex environment.
- Proven knowledge of retail banking from both product and financial risk perspectives.
- Ability to understand customer, operational, and IT language within a multi-distribution environment and translate complex matters into simple and practical solutions. You should not only manage the process but also understand the content of your initiative.
- Flexibility, ability to gain people's trust, service-oriented, excellent communication skills, and natural ability to connect with people are vital to dealing with multiple stakeholders across different business units.
- Understanding that success comes from execution, and delivering results as planned.
- Fluent in English and Dutch (both written and spoken).
Who you will work with
NN Bank is aiming to become the Future Ready Digital Retail Bank for our customers. The Transformation team is the linking pin and has an orchestrating role towards the organization and the Management Team of Bank. The Transformation team is responsible for strategy, programme- and project management (execution) and demand management for NN Bank.
Your Transformation Team currently consist of three (senior) programme- and project managers. Together, you are responsible for the execution of the strategic initiatives of Bank. Besides that, you have two strategy consultants in your team, who are responsible for strategy, OKR setting and support the decision-making processes of MT Bank on strategic topics. They also provide and monitor the strategic effectiveness and are responsible for the reporting. Also the demand manager resides in your team. This colleague is responsible (together with local demand managers) for contract management within Bank.
The whole team reports to the Head of Transformation and works closely together with colleagues from all organisational parts of NN Bank, Customer & Digital, and NN Group departments like IT, Finance and Risk.
