Position Summary


Join our team as Coalfire's Advisory Senior Project Manager and you will have the opportunity to apply your successful project delivery skills into full end-to-end project life cycle management. You will be assigned to a specific client and work directly with the Cloud delivery, the Compliance Advisory delivery, and the Cloud Maintenance & Operations delivery teams. As the Senior Project Manager you will collaborate with these teams to successfully deliver projects within the defined scope, on time, and on budget. You will have the opportunity to work with all stakeholders in building client relationships and managing escalated issues appropriately.

What You'll Do

  • Owns the full lifecycle of projects: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for the customer and the Coalfire team throughout the project. 
  • Prepares project plans for all phases of the project with appropriate level of detail.
  • Works with Resource Deployment Managers to secure resources to achieve project objectives in planned schedule.
  • Works alongside the core consultant to manage the day-to-day activities and resources on project engagements. 
  • Understands interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs. 
  • Has a shared responsibility with the core consultant for project scope, budget, timelines, and change management.
  • Manages project expectations and risks while delegating and managing deliverables with project team members and stakeholders. 
  • Will monitor, track and control open action items, issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables. Escalates issues when necessary and follows escalation through to resolution. 

  • Will have the following reporting responsibilities:

  • Provide internal status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks/issues, actions, and overall summary information.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation, and presentations to various audiences (i.e.- project team, sponsors, and key stakeholders).

  • Will have the following meeting responsibilities:

  • Meeting attendance and/or preparation for Executive Level meetings both internally and externally with the pre-identified client.
  • Running the middle management level meetings both internally and externally.
  • Shared responsibility with the core consultant to run internal pod level management meetings.
  • Preparation, attendance, and leadership for other meetings both internally and externally: daily standups, weekly status calls, cloud advisory board meetings, etc.

  • Works with a team of matrixed employees to deliver a succinct customer experience.
  • Ensures that projects and programs are proceeding according to established quality standards. 
  • Understands project management principles, methods, and techniques. 
  • Effectively applies Coalfire methodology and enforces project standards. Provides feedback on process changes and improvements.
  • Hold individuals accountable for project deliverables.
  • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and be able to delegate tasks as needed.
  • Maintains company defined billable utilization targets. 
  • Remote position with travel for client or internal work as needed.

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ Years of client facing, direct project management experience is required. Non- client facing, non-project management work cannot be counted as a substitute.
  • 5+ Years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross -functional matrix environment is required.
  • 2+ Years of experience working in a client facing, professional services industry is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree plus equivalent experience in project management, business administration, or a related field of study. 
  • Proven experience with large clients and complex projects required.
  • Experience running sprint planning meetings, daily stand ups, and retrospectives is required.
  • Proven excellence with customer service skills is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management methodology: including both waterfall and agile methodologies is required.
  • Proven excellence with both client-facing and internal communication skills is required.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and communicate with executive level leadership both internally and externally is required.
  • Leadership skills, the ability to own project success, and proven consistency on meeting deliverables and commitments.
  • Able to structure and lead cross-functional teams and stakeholders through the full life cycle of projects.
  • Ability to self-manage in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to create, adapt, or update project management governance and processes for a large, enterprise client.
  • Ability to provide fulltime support to the delivery and maintenance and operations teams based in the United States.
  • Familiarity managing or working with clients who have ongoing maintenance and operations contracts.
  • Base level understanding of the FedRAMP and DoD compliance frameworks and insight into the client journey for an initial FedRAMP authorization.

Bonus Points

  • PMP, CSM, PgMP, or related project management certification
  • Experience with Smartsheet or Financial Force/Certinia
