Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager with hands-on experience in navigating regulatory environments in China. The ideal candidate will have exposure to business operations, project management, and an understanding of regulatory interactions in China, especially in sectors like financial services and cross-border data compliance. This role requires strong communication skills in Mandarin and English and the ability to manage projects effectively in a complex and dynamic regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee projects related to business operations in China, ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and internal teams to facilitate project approvals and compliance with Chinese regulations.
  • Monitor and adapt to changes in China's regulatory environment, particularly around company establishment, cross-border data rules, and financial services.
  • Ensure smooth communication and coordination between stakeholders, both local and international.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams, ensuring that project objectives are met within the regulatory framework of China.
  • Navigate licensing requirements and ensure compliance with relevant business activities as per China's regulations.
  • Tactically identify dependencies and blockers, track and help remove them accordingly.
  • Lead multiple projects with the waterfall approach.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams globally.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in project management.
  • Native Mandarin or\and Cantonese, fluent English (written and oral)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working in or with Chinese government agencies or regulatory bodies.
  • Prior experience in establishing or managing operations in China.
  • Experience with cross-border business and financial services regulations in China.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects in China, particularly with exposure to regulatory interactions (e.g., business setup, cross-border data rules, and financial services regulations).
  • Familiarity with China’s regulatory landscape, including company establishment, data compliance, and financial services licensing.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing regulations and business environments in China.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and common sense, with the ability to navigate complex situations and figure out regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships across different cultures and regulatory environments.
