 Job Title: Senior Project Interface Engineer – Offshore FEED Project

KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high‑profile offshore development  project in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based in Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi only.

Job Purpose

The Senior Project Interface Engineer is responsible for managing, coordinating, and controlling all technical and organizational interfaces during the FEED phase of offshore oil & gas projects. The role ensures seamless integration across multiple disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders, minimizing conflicts and ensuring alignment with Client  standards, project schedule, and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Interface Management & Coordination

  • Develop and implement the Interface Management Plan (IMP) for the project.
  • Identify, define, and manage all internal and external interfaces across engineering disciplines and project packages.
  • Establish and maintain an Interface Register and ensure proper tracking and closure of interface issues.
  • Act as the focal point for interface coordination between client, PMC, EPC contractors, and vendors.

FEED Phase Interface Control

  • Ensure integration of FEED deliverables across disciplines (process, piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation, subsea).
  • Coordinate design interfaces between offshore facilities, pipelines, subsea systems, and brownfield tie-ins.
  • Verify that interface requirements are clearly defined and incorporated into engineering designs.

PMC Oversight & Contractor Coordination

  • Monitor EPC contractor interface management activities and compliance with project procedures.
  • Review contractor interface registers, interface agreements, and coordination documents.
  • Facilitate regular interface meetings and technical workshops.
  • Resolve interface conflicts and escalate critical issues when required.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify and evaluate interface risks and potential conflicts.
  • Develop mitigation strategies to address interface-related risks.
  • Ensure timely resolution of interface issues to avoid delays and rework.
  • Support HAZID/HAZOP and constructability reviews from an interface perspective.

Schedule Integration & Progress Tracking

  • Coordinate with planning and project controls teams to ensure interface alignment with project schedules.
  • Monitor interface milestones and highlight potential impacts on project timelines.
  • Support development of mitigation and recovery plans for interface delays.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

  • Liaise with ADNOC Offshore, EPC contractors, vendors, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Ensure clear communication of interface requirements, responsibilities, and deliverables.
  • Prepare and present interface status reports to senior management.

Change Management & Documentation

  • Assess and manage changes affecting interfaces and evaluate impacts on scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Maintain documentation including:
    • Interface registers
    • Interface agreements
    • Meeting minutes and action trackers
  • Ensure proper documentation and audit compliance for all interface activities.

HSE & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure interface activities comply with project HSE policies and ADNOC standards.
  • Promote safe design practices and ensure ALARP principles are considered.
  • Ensure quality and consistency across interface deliverables.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or equivalent)
  • Master’s degree is an advantage

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of offshore facilities, subsea systems, and pipeline interfaces
  • Familiarity with ADNOC standards and international codes (API, ISO, ASME, IEC)
  • Knowledge of interface management tools and systems

Experience

  • Minimum Overall 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector.
  • Minimum 5–7 years in offshore FEED / detailed engineering projects.
  • Experience in WHT, subsea pipeline installation, and marine operations.
  • 12–15+ years of experience in oil & gas project engineering
  • Prior experience in PMC / ADNOC Offshore projects is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in interface management roles within PMC or EPC organizations.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or equivalent)
  • Master's degree is an advantage
  • Minimum Overall 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector
  • Minimum 5-7 years in offshore FEED/detailed engineering projects
