About this roll*:
As the Senior Product Manager for Sous Chef, our AI assistant for restaurants & customers. You’ll lead the development of key internal systems that power Sous Chef’s intelligence, accuracy, and context awareness. This includes everything from improving system-wide quality and permissions enforcement to unlocking personalization capabilities for all Toast customers.
You’ll partner closely with engineering, machine learning, design, and product leaders to evolve Sous Chef from a helpful assistant into a deeply personalized, context-aware agent for every Toast customer. If you’re energized by technical product challenges, thrive in ambiguity, and care deeply about building amazing customer experiences, this role is for you.
- Comment start Go deep on how AI systems reason, respond, and learn—then build the user interfaces that bring it to life.
- What you build will touch thousands of restaurants & retail shops, every day, across the globe.
- Drive initiatives to achieve and maintain benchmarks for accuracy and run evals.
- Build new core features to make the assistant more powerful and personalized.
- Define and launch tooling to enable no-code A/B testing of model configurations and system prompts.
- Partner with ML and QA teams to systematize response quality improvements across models and use cases.
- Embrace and advocate for the use of AI tools to accelerate product discovery, streamline execution, and explore new product experiences - helping shape how we build and what we build.
Special Sauce:
- Familiarity with data governance and permissions in enterprise products.
- Experience working on AI or personalization in a B2B or vertical SaaS environment.
- Background in hospitality, operations, or consumer analytics.

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions, if eligible), benefits, and equity (if eligible).
