Job DescriptionABOUT THE ROLE
At Nielsen, we are passionate about our work to power a better media future for all people by providing powerful insights that drive client decisions and deliver extraordinary results.
The Senior Product Manager, Data Platform & Analytics is the analytical engine and quality gatekeeper for our core data offerings. While operating within the Product Management function, this is a deeply analytical role built for an expert who thrives at the intersection of product health, data collection mechanism, and commercial strategy.
You will not just build data products; you will track user funnels, design the monitoring architecture that detects production anomalies, and own the data quality assurance processes that keep our products robust. Beyond system health, you will act as a critical bridge to our revenue teams—building proof-of-concepts (POCs) from raw data and driving technical RFI responses. You will partner closely with the broader Product Management team to unify these insights into a holistic, best-in-class data product.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Funnel Optimization & Product Telemetry
• Track, analyze, and optimize the end-to-end user funnel for our panel product, using data to drive interventions that increase conversion and retention rates
• Define and own core product health metrics, building/managing the foundational product dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Looker) that track ecosystem performance
• Act as the source of truth for product usage data, translating raw user behavior into actionable insights for the broader product roadmap
Data Quality & System Monitoring
• Architect and manage proactive monitoring systems designed to identify data anomalies and operational issues before they escalate to clients
• Lead cross-functional incident response for data drops or anomalies, working closely with engineering to query the data, find the root cause, and resolve it
Commercial Enablement & GTM Support
• Design and execute high-impact Proof of Concepts (POCs) by querying and structuring complex data to demonstrate tangible client value for Sales enablement
• Act as the technical analytics expert for the commercial team, leading data-heavy responses for complex Requests for Information (RFIs) and client inquiries
• Bridge the gap between data infrastructure and market needs, ensuring our sales narratives are backed by rigorous, provable data evidence
Cross-Product Strategy & Integration
• Partner with other Product Managers across the portfolio to integrate panel health and data quality metrics into a unified, holistic data product
• Champion a data-driven culture within the product organization, establishing best practices for analytics, A/B testing, and performance tracking
QualificationsWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience
• 8- 12+ years of experience as a Product Manager for Data products OR Lead Product Analyst, Data Scientist, or highly analytical Product Manager, with a strong focus on technical B2B SaaS or data products
• Proven track record of owning complex user funnels, building automated reporting, and implementing data quality frameworks at scale
• Experience acting as a technical liaison to sales or go-to-market teams, with a history of pulling data for POCs and leading complex RFI responses
Technical & Domain Knowledge
• Advanced Analytics: Fluency in data querying and manipulation (SQL is mandatory; Python or R is highly preferred)
• Data Visualization: High proficiency in building complex, automated dashboards using tools like Tableau, Looker, or similar BI platforms
• Domain: Familiarity with consumer data products, audience measurement, or complex consumer data sets is a strong plus
Leadership & Judgment
• Highly analytical problem-solver who doesn't wait for a dashboard to be built—they write the query, find the system gap, design the monitoring solution, and drive execution
• Strong commercial intuition; able to translate dense data quality metrics and raw data sets into clear, client-facing value propositions
• Collaborative partner who excels in matrixed environments, seamlessly translating between engineering, sales, and product strategy
