About Us

Fieldguide is establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets by automating and streamlining the work of assurance and audit practitioners, specifically in cybersecurity, privacy, and financial audits. Put simply, we build software for the people who enable trust between businesses.

We’re based in San Francisco, CA, but built as a remote-first company that enables you to do your best work from anywhere. We’re backed by top investors, including Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, Y Combinator, DNX Ventures, Global Founders Capital, Justin Kan, Elad Gil, and more.

We value diversity—in backgrounds and experiences. We need people from all backgrounds and walks of life to help build the future of audit and advisory. Fieldguide’s team is inclusive, driven, humble, and supportive. We are deliberate and self-reflective about the kind of team and culture we are building, seeking teammates who are not only strong in their own aptitudes, but who also care deeply about supporting each other’s growth.

As an early-stage startup employee, you’ll have the opportunity to help build the future of business trust. We make audit practitioners’ lives easier by consolidating up to 50% of their work and improving work-life balance. If you share our values and enthusiasm for building a great culture and product, you’ll find a home at Fieldguide.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Product Designer to join our Audit product team. You’ll own complex, ambiguous problem spaces end-to-end, partner closely with Product and Engineering, and help shape the design direction of a core Fieldguide product.

We move incredibly fast at Fieldguide, and we’re looking for designers who can operate at that cadence. This team ships frequently, iterates in tight loops, and makes progress amid ambiguity. You should be comfortable balancing speed with craft, incorporating AI into your daily design practice, and designing AI-assisted workflows directly into the product. You should also be excited to create clarity in undefined spaces, move proactively without heavy direction, and know when to move quickly versus when to go deep. This is a high-impact role for someone excited to tackle unclear problems, drive momentum, and modernize audit workflows that customers depend on every day. We’re looking for someone scrappy, highly autonomous, and deeply user-oriented — a designer with strong product instincts who can quickly turn ambiguity into momentum.

About the Team

You’ll join a growing, highly collaborative product design team embedded within Fieldguide’s Audit product group. Designers at Fieldguide operate as strong product partners—working closely with Product Management and Engineering to define problems and deliver high-quality solutions.

The Audit team focuses on the core workflows that auditors and assurance professionals use every day, including planning, execution, review, and collaboration across engagements. The problems are complex, data-rich, and high-impact.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead end-to-end design for complex, ambiguous audit workflows, from problem definition through shipped solutions

  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape strategy, influence roadmaps, and deliver high-quality, scalable implementations bringing strong product judgment to tradeoffs across user needs, business goals, and technical constraints

  • Drive design execution with minimal direction, operating effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

  • Translate customer needs, research insights, and business goals into clear user journeys, interaction models, and polished UI

  • Balance speed and iteration with usability, consistency, and long-term product quality

  • Advocate for users while accounting for technical, regulatory, and business constraints

  • Own a significant product area or customer journey, anticipating downstream impacts across workflows and personas

  • Set a high bar for craft and influence by contributing to the design system, mentoring peers, and serving as a trusted design voice with strong conviction and low ego

Who You Are
  • You thrive in fast-moving environments and can operate effectively at high velocity without sacrificing judgment or craft

  • You’re comfortable owning complex, ambiguous problem spaces end-to-end with minimal direction

  • You think in systems and anticipate downstream impacts across workflows, personas, and adjacent product areas

  • Experience working alongside or designing AI-assisted workflows (e.g., review, summarization, guidance)

  • You incorporate AI into your daily design practice — from research and synthesis to prototyping and iteration - using it as a force multiplier while still applying strong judgment

  • You’re excited to design AI-assisted workflows that meaningfully support auditors in their work

  • You set a high bar for usability, polish, and consistency in shipped work

  • You’re a trusted design voice who elevates the team through mentorship, feedback, and thoughtful critique

Bonus Points
  • Experience designing for audit, accounting, compliance, or other regulated domains

  • Background in workflow-heavy, document-centric, or B2B SaaS products

  • Experience designing for role-based permissions, reviews, and multi-stakeholder collaboration

  • Experience partnering on zero-to-one or major product re-architecture efforts

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
