Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.
The Monetization team at Atlassian is reshaping how our largest customers buy and consume software. Flex is a new commercial model - a customer wallet that lets enterprises commit spend up front and draw it down across Atlassian products, consumable resources, and services at a monthly cadence. We're standing up the first pilot now, getting real enterprise customers live against real wallets.
As the Principal Product Manager for Flex pilot and delivery, you'll own the M0 pilot as a product: getting up to five enterprise customers live on Flex, keeping them running, and using each one as a live experiment. Your mandate is to understand the long term strategic goal for Flex, then use the pilot to pressure-test, sharpen, and de-risk it - turning field reality into better answers and higher confidence on the questions that scale depends on. There is a lot of operational and execution work in that, and you'll own it. But the operations are the instrument, not the point: if we operationalize something that doesn't help us answer the long-term questions better - or hold those answers with more confidence - it won't have mattered. You'll focus on:
- Owning M0 customer journeys (contract-to-wallet activation, sweep-in, new-subscription handling, and deficit/exhaustion) and the 30/60/90 onboarding motion behind them, using each journey to learn where the model holds and where it strains
- Running the manual wallet operations (wallet ledger, monthly invoice reconciliation against CCP, FlexWallet payment-method setup) as a deliberate research vehicle - designed so that doing the work surfaces the signal, not just the invoice
- Closing the pilot's open execution gaps - named-account modeling with Sales Strategy, the Finance monthly-close process, customer-facing enablement with PMM and Marketing - and reading each gap for what it tells us about the model at scale
This role requires someone analytically rigorous and operationally excellent, comfortable working across six or more functional teams at once. You'll be the operational DRI who keeps the pilot's plumbing working. You'll be the first to spot where the model breaks in practice, and the person who converts that into evidence-backed recommendations informing Flex's long term direction. You'll write requirements docs, build financial models and scenarios, own the CSM-to-customer recurring report spec, and more - holding accountability across teams while influencing without positional authority.
Most of all, this is a front-row seat in Atlassian's newest pricing strategy, enterprise commercial design, and executive communication. It's optimal for someone who wants to grow their strategic acumen, and who will protect their own time for the product-judgment work - customer selection, enablement, workflow improvement, and the strategic questions the pilot exists to answer - rather than disappearing into pure execution.
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. We follow consistent hiring practices and account for each candidate's skills, knowledge, and experience when setting base pay within the range.
