We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate a modern, scalable, and secure cloud platform that enables our engineering teams to deliver high-quality software quickly and safely. You will play a key role in shaping our internal developer platform, owning cloud infrastructure, and driving reliability, performance, and cost efficiency across AWS.This role suits an engineer who enjoys building strong foundations, improving developer experience, and working across infrastructure, automation, and cloud-native systems.
What You’ll Do
Design, build, and operate highly available, scalable, and secure platform infrastructure on AWS.
Architect and manage Kubernetes (EKS) clusters at enterprise scale, including:
Helm chart development and lifecycle management
Cluster upgrades, capacity planning, and multi-environment strategies
Build and evolve an internal developer platform that standardises service deployment, observability, and operational best practices.
Own Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including reusable modules, environments, and state management.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery, supporting frequent and reliable releases.
Design and support service-oriented / microservices architectures, including networking, service discovery, and security.
Lead AWS infrastructure across both containerised and serverless workloads, including:
EC2, Auto Scaling Groups, EKS, RDS
Full AWS serverless stack (Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB)
Drive cloud cost optimisation, performance tuning, and reliability improvements.
Build and maintain observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch.
Participate in an on-call rotation, taking ownership of platform reliability and incident response.
Mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and contribute to platform architecture decisions.
Collaborate closely with application, security, and product teams to enable safe self-service and faster delivery.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Experience
Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments.
Proven experience operating Kubernetes at scale (preferably EKS).
Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, and distributed systems.
Experience supporting microservices and service-oriented architectures.
Nice to Have
Experience building internal developer platforms.
Experience with serverless architectures.
Exposure to security tooling, SRE practices, or FinOps.
Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience.
