The role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Pipeline Infrastructure Engineer/ Senior Pipeline & Utilities Engineer to support the delivery of major water, utility, and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will provide technical oversight of pipeline construction, installation, testing, quality assurance, and commissioning activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Provide technical supervision of pipeline installation and construction activities, including transmission pipelines, valves, chambers, and associated infrastructure works.
- Review engineering drawings, alignment plans, welding and jointing procedures, construction methodologies, and contractor submissions.
- Monitor installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, and performance verification activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Support hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, pipeline integrity assessments, and acceptance testing processes.
- Oversee trenching, bedding, backfilling, reinstatement, and associated civil works related to pipeline construction activities.
- Coordinate with contractors, utility stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams to facilitate successful project execution.
- Ensure compliance with applicable specifications, standards, quality assurance requirements, and safety procedures.
- Maintain inspection records, technical documentation, defect registers, and project reporting requirements.
- Review as-built documentation, completion records, and handover deliverables for pipeline infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting, risk mitigation, construction planning, and project performance improvement initiatives.
With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in pipeline engineering, construction supervision, or delivery of major infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience with large-diameter transmission pipelines, utility networks, or major water conveyance systems.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline construction methodologies, welding and jointing practices, pressure testing, quality assurance, and inspection procedures.
- Proven experience managing both pipeline and associated civil works activities during construction phases.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, technical specifications, contractor documentation, and construction methodologies.
- Knowledge of pipeline commissioning, operational readiness, and asset handover processes.
- Experience with trenchless works, utility crossings, road crossings, or complex pipeline installation environments.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical reporting skills with strong English language proficiency.
