Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Payments Product Operations Specialist to join our APAC Regional Payment Operations team in Singapore.

Payments Product Operations turns recurring customer and operational friction into scalable Product change. In this senior individual-contributor role, you will own a meaningful part of the APAC portfolio. Your assignment may change with regional priorities and could include a market portfolio, Product domain, new direct integration or complex cross-market opportunity.

This is a hands-on role. You will set direction and influence senior decisions, but you must also be comfortable working in the detail: exploring data, writing SQL, investigating root causes, defining requirements and driving execution through to adoption and measurable impact.

You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Regional Operations, as well as other cross-functional teams across Wise. You will also help raise the standard of strategic, analytical and Product-facing work across the Payments Product Operations team.

What you’ll do

  • Own the direction and outcomes for an assigned part of the APAC portfolio, aligned with regional priorities and the Payments Product Operations Technical Lead.

  • Identify, investigate and prioritise material customer, payment-performance and operational problems; establish root causes, size their impact and recommend addressable interventions.

  • Shape roadmaps and technical solutions with Product and Engineering, balancing customer impact, scalability, risk, effort and business value.

  • Build compelling business cases and recommendations that secure senior stakeholder support and investment.

  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives end to end - from discovery and solution design through operational readiness, delivery and benefit validation - while remaining hands-on with requirement gathering, data analysis and implementation.

  • Design scalable workflows, tools and controls that reduce recurring customer friction, manual work, operational cost or risk.

  • Lead or support complex launches such as new markets, direct integrations and material payment-system changes.

  • Identify and test automation and AI opportunities with appropriate validation, controls, human oversight and benefit measurement.

  • Develop reusable approaches and mentor Payments Product Operations Specialists to take on broader and more complex ownership.

The role will give you the opportunity to

  • Own high-impact opportunities across an evolving APAC portfolio.

  • Influence Product direction through customer insight, operational evidence, technical understanding and business value.

  • Lead work from an ambiguous problem to a delivered solution with verified impact.

  • Work on strategically important changes including new markets, direct integrations, partner improvements, automation and scalable payment capabilities.

  • Apply modern data, automation and AI tools to real operational and customer problems.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated ownership of complex, ambiguous initiatives from problem discovery and impact sizing through solution design, delivery, adoption and measurable outcomes.

  • Experience working directly with Product and Engineering to shape requirements, evaluate solutions and influence roadmap or prioritisation decisions.

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical judgement, combined with the willingness and ability to work deeply in the detail.

  • Ability to independently write SQL from scratch - including multi-table joins, aggregations and CTEs - and use it to analyse, test and validate data.

  • Experience leading cross-functional work with limited day-to-day supervision and influence senior stakeholders without formal authority.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to turn complex operational and technical information into clear recommendations and compelling business cases.

  • Experience designing scalable products, processes, tools or operating models that balance customer outcomes, business value, cost, reliability and risk.

Nice to haves

  • Experience in payments, fintech, banking or another regulated financial-services environment.

  • Experience in an analytical, Product Management, Product Operations or operational-strategy role.

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to analyse data, prototype solutions and deliver workflow improvements; familiarity with LLM APIs, agent frameworks or evaluation design is an advantage.

  • Experience launching a new market, payment integration, partner capability or similarly complex product.
