Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Database Administrator with 6+ years of experience to manage, maintain, and optimize our databases. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proven expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing scripts to improve system efficiency and reliability.
- Install, configure, and upgrade database software and tools.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning improvements.
- Perform regular database backups and recovery testing.
- Manage database security, user roles, and permissions.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of database issues.
- Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Automate tasks using scripts (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, shell script, Python).
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery plans are in place.
- Collaborate with developers and system administrators to support application performance.
- Maintain data integrity and privacy in accordance with compliance policies.
- Create and maintain documentation related to database systems and configurations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
- Create and optimize PL/SQLs - queries and stored procedures.
- Proficiency in one or more RDBMS platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database structures, and performance tuning.
- Experience with backup/recovery tools and disaster recovery solutions.
- Knowledge of databaase security, encryption, and access control.
- Familiarity with cloud databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
- Understanding of scripting and automation tools.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
