Sr. Network Engineer, Assurant, GCC-India
The Sr. Network Engineer’s primary role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the voice, data, and video systems and infrastructure that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing voice, data, and video solutions across the organization. In addition, the Sr. Network Engineer will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all voice, data, software, and communication links. Finally, this individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Working Hours: 6:30 PM IST - 3:30 AM IST
This position will be in Hyderabad at our India location.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- The Sr. Network Engineer leads and/or participates in design, build, implementation and test functions for complex enterprise infrastructure projects to support network, telecommunications, security (network related) and infrastructure appliance technologies (i.e., Cisco Nexus, F5, Palo Altos, Cisco ASA’s and SSL VPN). This includes research, build, implementation, testing and test plans, documenting standards, creating support documentation, following documented processes and training of other resources within voice and data services – 60%
- Provide Tier III and IV technical support and in-depth problem analysis capabilities. Includes on-call and off hours support and interaction with key vendors and suppliers – 15%
- Responsible for work direction of other voice and data services staff as requested – 15%
- Maintains relationships with key vendors and partners – 10%
- Provides mentoring (guidance, assistance, and training) across all of IT. Also, plays a leadership role across all of IT.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
8 years' experience with 3 or more of the following areas:
- Local Area Networking equipment, cabling, and protocols including routers, switches, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP. Cisco and Arista
- Wide Area Networking equipment, mediums, and protocols including edge routers, firewalls, MPLS, and Ethernet, SDWAN.
- Wireless LAN equipment and technologies including controllers, access points, wireless survey tools
- Network Security including Firewalls, Network Intrusion Detection / Prevention, and Network Access Control technology.
- IP converged networks
- Network Access Control via Aruba ClearPass
- Infoblox DNS
6 years’ experience with 2 or more of the following areas:
- Service Management tools
- Network troubleshooting tools including Sniffers, Analyzers
- Network configuration tools
- 4 years’ experience in network administration role
What are the preferred requirements for this position?
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/ information technology OR Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCVP/CCIE certification.
- 4-year experience with network and telecommunications infrastructure architecture design and planning
- 1 years’ experience with integration of network and telecommunication infrastructures.
