We are currently looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer to join our team in Maastricht. In this role, you will be part of a diverse and highly skilled team working on one of the leading telecom networks worldwide. You will collaborate with IP and telecom experts to design, build, secure, and improve a high-end network environment in close partnership with our customer.
You will work in a state-of-the-art, multi-vendor technology landscape where security, reliability, and continuous improvement are key:
- Security technologies: firewalling, DNS, load balancing, IPSec VPNs and IDPS
- Network vendors: Cisco and Juniper
- Firewalls: Check Point, Juniper, Cisco, Fortinet and F5
- Load balancing: F5
- DNS and IPAM: Infoblox
What you will do:
- Review high-level and low-level network designs and provide practical, value-adding feedback.
- Build and improve secure IP network solutions based on approved designs.
- Prepare, test, and validate changes in the Test Centre before implementation in the live network.
- Deploy network security changes and solutions through a strict change management process.
- Analyse current manual processes and help automate them using tools such as Ansible.
- Work closely with colleagues, vendors, and customer stakeholders to keep the network secure, stable, and future-ready.
The skills you bring:
- CCNA certification, along with additional certifications such as NSE4, CCSE/CCSA, and BIG-IP.
- Knowledge of network configuration management tools.
- Proven experience in network security engineering.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Around 5-10 years of experience as an IP Network Engineer.
- Service-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in Dutch is a significant asset, and business fluency in English is essential.
Nice to have:
- Experience working with Ansible and Python.
- Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
