About this opportunity:
Are you an experienced network engineer who enjoys working on complex IP infrastructure in a real customer environment? We are looking for a Network automation engineer IP-infra to strengthen our team in Maastricht. In this role, you will work across the full lifecycle of IP network solutions: from design and lab validation to integration, implementation, and final acceptance. You will join a skilled team of telecom and IT professionals, work with modern technologies, and help deliver reliable, high-impact network solutions for our customers.
What you will do?
As a Network Automation Engineer IP-INFRA, you will:
- Design, implement, and maintain and automat network solutions within IP infrastructure environments.
- Translate high-level and low-level designs into robust implementation plans and technical configurations.
- Develop and maintain network automation frameworks using Python, Ansible, and modern API-driven technologies.
- Build, configure, and maintain lab environments for testing, validation, and proof-of-concept activities.
- Execute network changes in compliance with change management and operational excellence practices.
- Analyze network performance, conduct capacity planning, and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Support deployment and operations teams with advanced technical expertise and troubleshooting.
- Lead technical discussions with customers and provide guidance on architecture, automation strategies, and technology choices.
- Develop technical documentation, solution designs, presentations, and customer proposals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams.
What We Are Looking For?
You recognize yourself in the following profile:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Relevant Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCDP, DevNet, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain them.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IP networking, infrastructure engineering, or network automation.
- Proven experience developing automation solutions using Python and Ansible.
- Experience working with automation frameworks, APIs, and modern DevOps methodologies.
- Strong hands-on experience with network design, implementation, migration, and operational support.
- Experience working in complex Service Provider, Enterprise, or Data Center environments.
- Strong analytical mindset with a structured and detail-oriented approach to solving complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
- Dutch language skills are considered a strong advantage.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable field
- At least 5 years of experience in IP networking and infrastructure engineering
- Relevant Cisco certification(s) or willingness to obtain them
- Strong hands-on experience with network design, implementation, and project delivery
- Strong knowledge of Metro Ethernet, MPLS, Unified MPLS, and Segment Routing
- Proficiency with routing protocols: IS-IS, OSPF, BGP v4/v6, iBGP and eBGP
- Experience with Cisco hardware (ASR1k, ASR9k, Nexus)
- Network automation experience: Python, Ansible, REST/NETCONF, YANG/JSON/YAML
- Experience with VPN technologies (EVPN, Inter-AS VPN, Carrier Ethernet)
- Knowledge of high-availability features (NSF, graceful restart, BFD, link aggregation)
- Experience with service provider virtualization (e.g., Cisco ACI)
- Accurate, analytical working style for structured, high-impact network changes
- Fluency in English
- Dutch language skills
