What if your engineering expertise could directly contribute to improving – and even saving – lives?
We are looking for two Mechanical Engineers to strengthen our Hardware team in the Neuro organization.
In this role, you will primarily work with Elekta’s stereotactic systems, contributing to the development of high‑precision, safety‑critical medical devices. You will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from early concept studies to detailed design, verification and support to manufacturing and service. A key part of the role is ensuring that mechanical solutions are robust, compliant and sustainable.
What you´ll do
- Contribute to mechanical development within product development projects related to the mechanical design of systems, subsystems and modules for stereotactic medical devices
- For senior profiles you will also lead mechanical development by shaping technical direction, enabling informed decisions, and collaborating closely with specialists across disciplines
- Mechanical development in early phases, including concept generation, design tradeoffs and feasibility studies, with attention to performance, safety, manufacturability and sustainability
- Advance improvements to make the product safer, more reliable, more cost-effective, and more maintainable.
- Perform and support functional testing of mechanical and electro-mechanical solutions
- Collaborate closely with system engineering, QA/RA, manufacturing, service and suppliers to ensure holistic product compliance and lifecycle performance
- Applying experience, engineering judgement and modern tools – including AI‑supported analysis, optimization and decision‑making – to improve design quality and performance and development efficiency
Your Expertise /Qualifications
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Relevant experience in mechanical design within product development, preferably in regulated industries such as medical devices or with other safety‑critical systems:
- - 3+ years for Mechanical Engineer
- - 7+ years for Senior Mechanical Engineer
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent)
- Solid experience with engineering calculations and FEM analysis, with deeper expertise expected for more senior profiles
- Experience using AI tools to support development and increase efficiency
- Fluency in Swedish and English (spoken and written)
