In this role, you will

Geo Portfolio Leadership

  • Own and lead a portfolio of Expedia Group’s most strategic partners within your assigned geography in Japan, developing account strategies that drive sustainable growth for both partners and the marketplace.
  • Act as the primary strategic advisor to partner decision-makers, building trusted relationships and positioning Expedia Group as a long-term strategic partner.
  • Drive alignment across key stakeholders at the property, ownership, and local decision-maker level to ensure consistent execution of market strategy across your portfolio.

Revenue Growth & Commercial Strategy

  • Identify and unlock revenue opportunities across your portfolio, including distribution growth, product adoption, media solutions, and platform innovations.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and business discussions with partners, working closely with Legal, 
  • Finance, and leadership teams when needed.
  • Develop data-driven growth strategies using marketplace insights, pricing dynamics, demand trends, and partner performance data.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partner decision-makers and senior stakeholders across your geography.
  • Lead business reviews and strategic planning discussions, providing performance insights, opportunity analysis, and growth recommendations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to partners by sharing market trends, traveler behavior insights, and digital distribution best practices.

Market Leadership

  • Act as a thought partner within the Japan market organization by sharing local market insights, competitive intelligence, and partner feedback with internal stakeholders.
  • Support and mentor peers by contributing best practices, commercial thinking, and strong partner management approaches across the team.
  • Represent the voice of your market in regional and cross-functional discussions, helping shape commercial priorities and partner initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Legal teams to deliver strong partner experiences and resolve commercial or operational challenges.
  • Lead or contribute to market-level initiatives that improve partner value, operational execution, and marketplace performance

Experience and qualifications

  • 7 + years of experience in account management, sales, partnerships, or business development
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in both Japanese and English
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of partners and driving commercial growth

  • Demonstrated success in influencing partner strategy and delivering measurable business results
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Good understanding of hospitality distribution, digital platforms, or the travel ecosystem
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across a diverse portfolio in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience in the hospitality, travel, OTA, or platform technology industry
  • Experience managing geographically diverse hotel portfolios or market-based partner accounts
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor peers or contribute to team initiatives without formal management responsibility
