The Role

JOB SUMMARY 

The Technical Lead, Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Cost Management and EPM Profitability is a subject-matter expert responsible for leading the design, development, configuration, implementation and optimization of Oracle PPM & PCMCS solutions to meet a company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting needs. This role combines strong Oracle PPM and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) functional and technical skills with a deep understanding of Enterprise Data Management Cloud Services (EDMCS) and PCMCS. Experience with EPBCS and Financial Close and Consolidation cloud services (FCCS) and finance and accounting business processes is a plus. The associate will collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements and lead technical teams and system integrators to build effective solutions and provide expert advice and support throughout the project lifecycle and beyond. In this role, the candidate will assume technical ownership of product delivery and advocate for appropriate industry standards and best practices that align with the company’s technology framework, guidelines and polices.  


CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Education and Experience 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline or equivalent experience/certification 
  • 7+ years of progressive professional experience in information technology application development and support including: 
  • 5+ years’ experience in Oracle EPM Implementation and support focused on Design, modeling, implementation, testing and maintenance 
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Oracle Projects & Portfolio Management module and Profitability and Cost Management cloud service module in EPM, additional knowledge and implementations of EPBCS, EDMCS, FCCS, ARCS, TRCS is a Plus. 
  • 3+ years of experience leading delivery / architecture of Oracle EBS modules like General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting and other modules.  
  • At least 2-3 full-cycle Oracle implementation of migration projects focused on the building integrations to Oracle EPM. 
  • Oracle PPM & EPM certifications are highly desired. 
  • In-depth knowledge of underlying tables and referential data dependencies across the Oracle ERP stack for respective Oracle Modules. 
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate into technical design documents. 
  • Ability to elicit, organize and document detailed and comprehensive functional system configuration requirements.  
  • Experience developing test plans, test scripts, and managing unit, system, regression, and user acceptance testing.  
  • Functional knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, test automation, solution architecture, API architecture and design, and systems integration 
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Ability to comprehend different functional and technical view-points and identify/understand dependencies 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in clear business terms 
  • Experience in Agile software methodologies and DevOps practices, including managing technical priorities within the backlog 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years’ domain experience in PPM & EPM processes relevant to supported business function; industry and competitive Oracle EPM / Hyperion landscape knowledge.  
  • Understanding of Hospitality domain finance processes and Revenue Recognition is strongly desired. 
  • Experience in functional understanding, document, map, design, execution and reconciliation of Conversion objects related to Chart of Accounts, Budgets and Forecasts, Trial balances from multiple systems etc. 
  • Experience in building PPM and EPM Reports. 
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of consultants to deliver the designed solution based on offshore model. 
  • Experience with SOX processes and IT General Controls.  
  • Ability to analyze user stories and develop an end-to-end solution design and functional design.  
  • Experience in Business Process redesign or transformation. 
  • Experience in functional understanding, document, map, design, execution and reconciliation of Conversion objects related to Procure to Pay domain that includes but not limited to Vendors, Invoices, etc.  
  • Experience in building OTBI and BIP Reports, knowledge of FDI and customization of FDI reports is a Plus. 
  • Experience in technical integrations of Third-party Tax software integrations with Vertex or OneSource. 
  • Solid understanding of ETL and data migration techniques. Integration design and build experience with external systems is a Plus. 
  • Experience with cloud environments like OCI, AWS etc.  Customization experience using OCI is a Plus. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in PPM & EPM and follow through to resolution. Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple support request while working on time sensitive projects and upgrades.  
  • Ability to work independently, identifying and driving required tasks to completion in a timely manner.  
  • Proven ability to support all aspects of large, complex applications with multiple stakeholders.  
  • Understanding of financial and accounting processes including cyclical events like month end close, quarter close etc.  
  • Understanding financial budgeting and forecasting processes.  
  • Experience with change management, and enterprise architecture frameworks  
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future integration platform opportunities. 

Core Work Activities 

  • Serve as Functional lead / Technical lead for PPM & EPM and demonstrated understanding of some core modules of Oracle ERP Fusion Cloud like General Ledger, Projects etc. 
  • Accountable for technical solutions that are high quality, well documented, aligned to standards, efficient, and easy to maintain 
  • Lead design, development, configuration, deployment and support of Oracle PPM and EPM solutions (PBCS/EDCMS/FCCS etc.).  
  • Lead Agile technical team to build and maintain software, translating user stories from the backlog into technical solutions and design specifications, using modern design patterns and architectural principles 
  • Design and build financial models, including forms, dashboards, business rules, and workflows.  
  • Configure metadata, calculations, and reporting structures. 
  • Manage data integration from source systems using tools like Data Management and EPM Automate. Coordinate data extraction and transformation processes from multiple systems, Data warehouses, Spreadsheets etc. to Oracle EPM.  
  • Lead discovery sessions with business users / system integrators / consultants to gather, elicit and document business requirements, perform gap analysis against standard Oracle EPM functionality, and capture the "as-is" and "to-be" business processes. 
  • Design functional solutions for PPM, PCMCS including configurations, customizations, extensions, and integrations. Develop functional design specifications (e.g., User stories, MD.50, BRD) following standard methodologies. 
  • Design, build, and maintain Oracle PPM & EPM modules, including configuration of applications, dimensions, metadata, and security settings. 
  • Lead workshops and interviews with finance and accounting teams to gather, document, and analyze business requirements. Translate business needs into detailed techno-functional specifications for PPM & EPM solutions. These workshops would include deep dive in to the Project Management and Accounting process in Marriott and design solutions that will help Billing and Contracting related to PPM. 
  • Create and manage complex business rules, custom consolidations, Groovy scripts, and EPM Automate scripts to automate processes and meet complex business needs. 
  • Implement data-level security to control access to specific data points such as rows, columns, or fields within the EPM database.  
  • Develop Role based access management in EPM and use the Access Control feature to extend predefined roles by creating custom groups and assigning application-specific roles to users or groups. Advise and assist in drawing up options for User roles and access privileges 
  • Develop and manage data integration processes between EPM applications and other enterprise systems, such as ERPs, data warehouses, and other source / feeder systems.  
  • Support validation efforts for comparing legacy data to converted Oracle Cloud records and generate reconciliation reports.  
  • Drive testing and deployment, including sufficient automated testing to ensure solution quality. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, scripts, and scenarios for unit, system integration (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT). Lead the testing cycles and manage defect resolution. 
  • Collaborate with technical teams to define and validate integration strategies with third-party applications, external systems, other internal feeder systems and other Oracle modules (where applicable). 
  • Coordinate with other Lead Engineers/Agile teams to manage risks and solve, escalate, and track cross-agile team dependencies and impediments 
  • Provide end-user training, create training materials, and offer post-go-live support to address functional and operational issues. Act as a senior point of escalation for complex problems. 
  • Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment throughout project lifecycle and project backlogs. 
  • Review and Monitor Oracle Cloud updates and new features, executing testing and making recommendations for potential enhancements to optimize system capabilities. 
  • Manage and monitor prod and non-prod environments, ensuring compliance with security and performance standards.  
  • Liaison with Oracle for Penetration testing / Disaster Recovery testing cycles. 
  • Support and assist in the Internal security, SOX and Financial assurance process.  
  • Identify recurring issues and inefficiencies in the PPM & EPM processes and propose solutions to optimize and automate business processes using RPA or Agentic AI’s. 
  • Create and maintain clear, high-quality documentation for processes, configurations, and functional designs.  
  • Ensure Aging of Production support tickets are below thresholds and continuously monitor the aging of tickets and their resolution. 
  • Ensure all hands-on deck for Sev-1 issues and create/maintain documentation related to Problem Management and triage. 
  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and system integrators. 
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, enterprise architecture and broader corporate systems teams on SSO, architecture and security reviews and infrastructure management.  

Technical Leadership 

  • Lead and mentor other technical team members  and peers on the Agile Team on best practices/principles (e.g., via code reviews) 
  • Create a culture of mentorship & sponsorship, aimed at strengthening professional development and technical principles 
  • Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders in defining requirements and establishing acceptance criteria  
  • Ensure the quality and timely delivery of product features.  
  • Improve operational efficiency by leveraging SDLC Toolchain and contributing additional automation tools and scripts (e.g., CI/CD automation)  
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottleneck and help onboard new technical team members 
  • Manage technical debt, including vulnerability scanning 
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of Corporate Systems products and services.  
  • Provides input on department or project budgets, capital expenditures or other cost/resource estimates as requested. 
  • Apply knowledge/judgment to achieve business goals.  
  • Keeps up-to-date functionally and technically and apply new knowledge to job.  
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required for this position.
