The Technical Product Manager - FinOps Automation, RI/SP Management & Optimization Engineering is responsible for managing cloud commitment programs, building optimization analytics, automating opportunity discovery, and developing AI-powered FinOps capabilities that improve operational efficiency and savings realization.
This role serves as the technical execution engine supporting large-scale optimization efforts across multi-cloud environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reserved Instance & Commitment Program Management
- Analyze and manage AWS Reserved Instances (RIs), Savings Plans (SPs), Azure Reservations, and GCP Committed Use Discounts (CUDs)
- Monitor coverage, utilization, expirations, underutilization, and purchasing opportunities
- Develop commitment recommendations to maximize savings and minimize waste
- Support forecasting, renewal planning, and commitment optimization activities
- Track realization of commitment-related savings
- Optimization Opportunity Discovery
- Continuously analyze cloud billing, utilization, and operational datasets to identify optimization opportunities
- Build repeatable methodologies to detect:
- Rightsizing opportunities
- Idle resources
- Low-utilization instances
- Storage optimization candidates
- Database optimization opportunities
- Commitment purchase opportunities
- Maintain optimization opportunity inventories and savings pipelines
- FinOps Automation & AI Agents
- Build and maintain AI-powered agents that automatically identify optimization opportunities
- Develop recommendation engines that proactively surface:
- RI/SP purchase opportunities
- Expiring commitments
- Coverage gaps
- Underutilized commitments
- Resource optimization candidates
- Leverage Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities to improve FinOps operations and efficiency
- Support automated remediation workflows where appropriate
- Data Engineering & Analytics
- Build datasets, metrics, and automated reporting supporting optimization and commitment management
- Maintain cloud billing and utilization analytics solutions
- Improve data quality and reporting automation
- Develop dashboards supporting engineering teams and optimization programs
- Product & Delivery Support
- Translate optimization requirements into actionable user stories and backlog items
- Partner with engineering teams on development and implementation of optimization capabilities
- Support testing, validation, and deployment of automation solutions

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager driving outcomes across cloud, SaaS platform, or FinOps-related products
- 2+ years of experience with cloud cost drivers, optimization levers, and value realization across Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, MongoDB, and data center environments
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics related to cloud & on-prem optimization through metrics
- 2+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker/Data Studio
- Experience with SQL scripting
- Experience with advanced Excel skills - pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, conditional formulas, and data modeling
- Experience partnering with customers or application teams to drive adoption and behavior change
- Experience translating complex technical and financial data into clear, actionable product direction
- Experience in backlog management, prioritization, and agile delivery
- Experience with Python, automation, or scripting
Preferred Qualification:
- 6+ months of experience with AI-assisted analytics, automation, and agent development
