The following position is to join our RTX Corporate Enterprise Services Software team:

This role is responsible for integrating all aspects of Software (SW) functions into Enterprise Services (ES) Strategy and Transformation Initiatives through collaborating and partnering with suppliers, ES leaders, and functional service owners.  A key component of the role is to develop supplier capabilities, partnerships and category strategies for internal use requirements.

The ideal candidate will draw from past experience with various software technologies and can assist with translating this knowledge via contract negotiations and project management skills to lead the coordination, communication and integration of suppliers to support the achievement of technical, financial and performance objectives. You will have an understanding of supplier products and develop various strategies to drive year-on-year cost savings to help RTX meet its bottom line. 

An understanding of the end-to-end procurement process, from contract negotiations to requisition and PO placement is needed for this role. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop effective presentations and present to leadership and peers.

What You Will Do:

  • Strategy Development & Negotiation: Build a strategy, lead and manage negotiations for Software (SW) contracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions to the achievement of technical, financial and performance objectives for RTX
  • Demonstrated success negotiating large, complex Software and SaaS agreements with top‑tier vendors (Microsoft, Atlassian, ServiceNow, Salesforce, AWS, Oracle, etc.)
  • License Types: Experience with various forms of SW licensing methodologies and complex pricing analysis
  • Strategy Consulting: Gathering requirements and identifying solutions to achieve desired outcomes
  • Contract Review & Drafting: Review, draft, and revise a variety of contracts including software licenses and master agreements
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders including partnership peers, legal, finance, cyber to align contract terms with company objectives
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationship with suppliers ensuring adherence to agreed terms, quality, and opportunity development
  • Risk Management: Ensure all contracts meet RTX security, data protection, export control, and regulatory requirements, partnering with Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Legal.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in software environment

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience in Consulting, Sourcing, Procurement Management with at least 5 years in the Software environment
  • In-depth understanding of various types of software licensing models for Software
  • Business acumen to connect technical requirements and concerns to contract performance
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, prepare and present financial information, budgets and program performance and develop strategies and business cases to improve performance in these areas
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills, including design and delivery of leadership‑ready materials (PowerPoint, dashboards, storytelling formats)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to work internally with internal functional service owners in addition to external suppliers; Strong background in negotiating software contracts to drive year-on-year cost savings to help RTX meet its bottom line
  • Negotiate complex commercial constructs, including multi-year enterprise agreements, usage-based pricing, SLAs, geographical requirements, and renewal terms
  • Experience sourcing events (RFIs, RFPs, direct negotiations) for Software and subscription agreements

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with an MBA preferred
  • Strong project management skills and ability to convert requirements into executable strategies, and ability to develop and manage an integrated master schedule
  • Ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
  • Ability to develop effective presentations and documents used for leadership reviews

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
