Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering
Introduction to the team

The Product Team creates high-quality end-to-end experiences for travelers, partners, and Expedia Group. Our focus on customer-centric innovation enables us to develop products that build loyalty and repeat business. We partner closely with teams across Expedia Group to drive growth and achieve results for our customers and the company.
The Expedia team is seeking a highly collaborative Senior Manager, Salesforce Development to join our team. This is a “wear-many-hats” role responsible for designing and configuring solutions in and around Salesforce, with hands-on administration and setup, aware of custom development and technically leading a team of experienced Salesforce system admins.

In this role, you will:

  • You will build customized solutions in multi platforms ( Salesforce and AWS) and associated systems that support business requirements and processes

  • Partner closely with staff and principal engineers, product managers, and other engineering teams to refine requirements, shape platform architecture (including multi-tenant vector stores and workflow integrations), and deliver incremental, production-ready value.

  • You will partner with the product engineering teams to evaluate and design resilient, scalable, and highly performant solutions

  • Drive system design and configuration with scalable solutions addressing potential future needs

  • Supporting a diverse stakeholder group in all phases of Salesforce development: planning/grooming, delivery, support

  • Translating business requirements into logical Salesforce technical designs

  • Active contribution in architecture and design discussions to promote administration best practices

  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation (design docs, runbooks, implementation guides, and how-tos) that enables other teams to successfully adopt, extend, and build on GenAI Platform services and paved roads.

  • Developing engineers and managers through coaching, feedback, hiring, and career development.

  • Establishing engineering standards, metrics, SLOs, and continuous-improvement practices.

  • Translating AI/ML opportunities into measurable traveler, partner, and business outcomes.

  • Lead the peer configuration reviews to drive consistent quality across the platform

  • Troubleshooting and driving resolution of bugs/issues

  • Contribute technical insight to daily support issues, as needed

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field; or equivalent related experience

  • 8+ years of Developer experience with Salesforce and AWS, 4+ years people management

  • Certified Developer and Architect

  • High fluency and adoption of AI tools and capabilities

  • Strong experience with cloud-based systems, system design, APIs, and data modeling.

  • You have experience in LWC, Aura, Visualforce, APEX, SOQL, SOSL

  • You have proficiency in technical analysis and object-oriented programming

  • You have strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  • Able to work autonomously with minimal guidance

  • Experience developing across multiple Salesforce instances at once

  • Experience using bug/project management tools (preferably JIRA)

  • Comfortable leading training sessions about the Salesforce platform and backend

  • Experience in developing processes and creating end-user documentation

  • Solid sense of customer focus and the importance of the voice of the customer
