The Senior Manager, Operations is responsible for implementing the divisional strategy through operational execution. This position drives operational excellence through the deployment and sustainment of the business system, NBS Next, in all operating areas, including planning, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, engineering, maintenance, and customer service. In addition, this role will be responsible for exceeding customer expectations while meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) focused around safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. The Senior Manager, Operations will use lean manufacturing strategies to drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Drives engagement in safety, vision, policies, practices, programs, and initiatives to prevent incidents through focus on unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Provides vision and leadership, empowering the organization to take full functional responsibility and ownership for performance and results.
- Manages resource utilization to ensure timely production and quality standards are achieved daily.
- Coordinates the creation and maintenance of appropriate levels of manufacturing capacity while controlling labor and overhead costs.
- Structures the organization to enable the manufacturing of products with consistent quality, timely delivery, and competitive costs for continued growth. Utilizes ERP system to optimize throughput.
- Utilizes NBS Next to plan, facilitate, and/or lead continuous improvement with focus on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost ensuring best-in-class operational processes.
- Demonstrates strong talent management focusing on building a high-performance culture through hiring, coaching, directing, and developing employees while increasing engagement.
- Ensures facility operates within, and maintains compliance with, applicable regulatory requirements such the FDA regulated Quality System, OSHA, ISO, etc.
- Increases customer satisfaction via enhanced availability of key products, and reduced lead times while simultaneously minimizing the value of raw material, work in process, and finished goods inventory.
- Manages manufacturing engineering team to assure process improvements, new product development, production safety features and cost reduction concepts, while simultaneously providing production and R&D support.
- Manages facilities team in the preventative maintenance & repair of building site and production equipment.
- Works cross-functionally with sales and business to help with customer opportunities, resolve issues, planning, etc.
- P&L responsibility including developing, forecasting, and management of the budget.
- Partners with Finance team on measurement and reporting of manufacturing metrics and cost control activities.
- Ongoing communication and liaising with corporate functional management.

Education and Experience Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, business or related field is required
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a manufacturing or operations leadership role is required, medical device industry preferred
- Experience utilizing an ERP system in an operations setting is required
- Proven experience in leading and implementing Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, creating flow & establishing pull for high volume products, with measurable results is required
- Experience with P&L responsibility or managing operational budgets
- Experience with managing extrusion manufacturing and secondary assembly operations is preferred
- Experience operating in an FDA regulated environment is a plus
