C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Manager Operations – Ocean Export to be based at any of the following EU locations: Barcelona, Valencia, Milan or Paris.

As Senior Manager Operations – Ocean Export you will provide leadership across multiple operation teams in Southern Europe. In this role, you will drive operational excellence, ensuring efficiency, quality, and world-class service delivery across the end-to-end export process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Drive operational performance by monitoring productivity, quality, and service delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and service standards
  • Analyze KPIs to identify opportunities and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, service levels, and cycle times
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, remove friction, and increase operational effectiveness
  • Manage and optimize budget performance to achieve business objectives with maximum efficiency
  • Lead, coach, and develop operations leaders and teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on quality and accountability
  • Build organizational capability by understanding team strengths and aligning skills with business needs
  • Manage employee performance, engagement, and development, implementing actions to strengthen culture, collaboration, and retention
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to build a strong and diverse talent pipeline, including recruiting and onboarding
  • Oversee merit and equity programs, aligning compensation with performance outcomes
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that deliver high-quality, efficient, and scalable service
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders, providing transparency on performance, initiatives, and changes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on business development, problem resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Represent C.H. Robinson at a strategic level with customers, carriers, and vendors
  • Drive the adoption of technology and automation, partnering with IT and stakeholders to enhance systems and operational efficiency
  • Maintain deep knowledge of C.H. Robinson’s products and services to support operational excellence and business growth

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in operations within Global Forwarding
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel, depending on location of the role
  • Fluency in English and the local language of the country where the position is based

Preferred:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and influence others, set a positive example, and create a productive, positive environment
  • Collaborative, adaptive leadership approach
  • Demonstrated experience influencing, effectively resolving conflict, and thriving in a fast-paced, decentralized, matrixed, global environment
  • Knowledge of emerging technology and trends
  • Advanced proficiency in financial and operational performance metrics with the ability to understand and communicate them
  • Strong strategic orientation, business acumen, critical thinking skills, and ability to evaluate broad impacts of work

  • Experience operational excellence methodologies (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)

Compensation Range

€64,500.00 - €109,100.00
