At Bristol Myers Squibb, our employees often ask, “Who are you working for?”—a question that fuels collaboration, accountability, and urgency in our work. Our purpose-driven culture inspires us to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines to prevail over serious diseases. We offer uniquely interesting and meaningful work, opportunities for growth, and a supportive environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, flexibility, and comprehensive benefits. This is work that transforms the lives of patients, and the careers of those who do it.

Position Summary

As a Senior Manager, Global Timekeeping Product Design you will be the primary driver of execution and enablement for the global timekeeping product — translating the strategic roadmap defined by the Global Timekeeping Product Strategist into designed, implemented, and continuously optimized processes and system capabilities. Working in close partnership with the Global Payroll Product Manager, HRIS, and operational payroll teams, you will ensure that timekeeping systems are intuitive, compliant, and scalable — delivering accurate time capture, labor distribution, and pay rule interpretation for employees and managers worldwide.

You will bridge the world of user experience design and HR technology, bringing the strategic intent to life through detailed process design, system configuration, and cross-functional delivery. Your passion is for pulling users through complex processes with little to zero 'how to' knowledge required — consumerizing the timekeeping experience so that clocking in, managing exceptions, approving time, and integrating data into payroll feels effortless.

Key Responsibilities

Enable & Execute the Global Timekeeping Product Design Roadmap

  • Partner closely with the Global Timekeeping Product Strategist to deeply understand roadmap intent and translate strategic priorities into detailed process designs, functional requirements, and system configurations ready for implementation.
  • Serve as the design and delivery bridge between strategy and execution — converting high-level product direction into actionable, employee-manager centered designs covering time capture, absence, schedule management, and pay rule configuration.
  • Maintain a clear picture of in-flight and upcoming roadmap initiatives, ensuring design work is sequenced, and aligned to delivery timelines set in partnership with the Timekeeping Product Strategist as well as close partnership with the Global Absence Product Design team.

Lead End-to-End Timekeeping Process Design & Standardization

  • Analyze current global time-tracking workflows to identify inefficiencies, compliance gaps, pay rule conflicts, and opportunities for harmonization across geographies and business units.
  • Design standardized, scalable time entry and approval processes that align with local statutory, labor law, and regulatory requirements (FLSA, EU Working Time Directive, country-specific mandates).
  • Develop global design principles and configuration standards for pay rules, work schedules, time calculation groups, and absence types in close partnership with the Global Absence Product Manager.

Drive Automation with Payroll

  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate time data flows between timekeeping platforms and payroll systems (including Workday. Payroll, ADP GlobalView/Celergo) — minimizing manual intervention and exception handling.
  • Support the evolution toward touchless, exception-based time processing by designing robust validation rules and real-time error resolution workflows.

Ensure Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Embed audit-ready controls within timekeeping processes to meet SOX requirements, internal audit standards, and country-specific labor compliance obligations.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and HR Centers of Excellence to stay current with evolving labor laws and translate regulatory changes into timekeeping configuration updates.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of time, pay rules, and process controls to support audit and compliance reviews.

Champion the Employee & Manager Experience

  • Apply UX research methods (journey mapping, persona development, usability testing) to identify friction points in the time-entry and approval experience for employees, managers, and payroll administrators.
  • Lead the 'consumerization' of timekeeping — reducing clicks, eliminating redundant steps, and designing self-service capabilities that require zero reliance on how-to guides.
  • Partner with Change Management and Communications to drive adoption of new timekeeping processes and tools.

Partner with Cross-Functional Stakeholders

  • Collaborate with Payroll Operations, People Technology, Finance (labor cost reporting), Legal, and external vendors to align timekeeping design with enterprise requirements.
  • Support the Global Timekeeping Product Strategist in vendor and platform discussions by providing deep design and configuration expertise, surfacing implementation constraints, and ensuring proposed roadmap items are operationally and technically feasible.

Leverage Data & Analytics

  • Define and monitor KPIs for timekeeping accuracy, exception rates, late approvals, payroll impact of time errors, and SLA performance.
  • Collaborate with GPO Team to build dashboards that give payroll, HR, and Business leaders real-time visibility into workforce time and attendance patterns.
  • Use data to drive continuous improvement — identifying systemic pay rule issues, recurring error patterns, and automation opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field — OR 7+ years of equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in timekeeping product design, workforce management systems, or time-and-attendance process design in a global or multi-country environment.
  • Strong understanding of the timekeeping-to-payroll data flow: time calculation, pay code mapping, labor distribution, PECI/time extract integration, and exception management.
  • Proven ability to translate complex labor law and pay rule requirements (FLSA, EU Working Time Directive, shift differentials, overtime, meal/rest breaks) into scalable process design and implementation.
  • Experience applying UX/product design thinking to HR or enterprise technology.
  • Experience with process simulations and creating detailed standard operating procedures as well as blueprint design documents.
  • Strong project management abilities, including the capacity to manage project execution, and monitoring projects within set timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex time policy and system design decisions clearly to all levels of the organization.

Preferred

  • Experience with Workday Time Tracking configuration in a global HCM environment, including integration with Workday Payroll and/or third-party payroll systems via PECI.
  • Functional understanding in at least one major timekeeping platform — Workday Time Tracking, UKG (Kronos) Workforce Central/Dimensions, or equivalent — including pay rule configuration, work schedule setup, and absence management.
  • Familiarity with scheduling optimization concepts — demand-driven scheduling, fatigue management rules,— as applied to timekeeping system design.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement methodology training.
