Opportunity Overview:
Cohere Health is seeking a strategic and people-driven Senior Manager to lead our Data Platform team through its next stage of growth. This role offers the opportunity to shape the evolution of our platform from a startup-oriented environment to a scalable, enterprise-grade data ecosystem. As a key leader in our Data & AI organization, you’ll play a pivotal role in fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture while driving technical excellence, operational rigor, and innovation. You’ll work cross-functionally to deliver impactful solutions that support real-time applications and analytic needs, directly influencing how healthcare decisions are powered by data.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage the Data Platform team through its evolution from a startup mindset to enterprise-grade excellence, fostering a high-performance culture with strategic guidance, collaboration, and targeted coaching to drive innovative, people-centric solutions.
- Drive team excellence by attracting top-tier talent, establishing clear career progression frameworks and performance metrics, and implementing comprehensive onboarding, training, and mentorship programs to accelerate growth and continuous development.
- Develop and maintain robust data engineering processes that ensure timely, sustainable delivery of solutions, balancing enterprise efficiency with minimized technical debt.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across product, operations, business intelligence, IT, and engineering to define and refine strategies, roadmaps, and best practices that ensure the data ecosystem aligns with business objectives and drives operational success.
- Implement comprehensive data ingestion strategies from diverse sources, establishing efficient, scalable, and well-documented data processing workflows, and oversee the development of data warehouses, data marts, and self-service reporting solutions.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of critical applications within the data ecosystem—including ETL tools, databases, and data warehouses—ensuring seamless operation and optimized system performance.
What you’ll need:
- BA or MA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams of data engineers, analytics engineers, or data personnel, with a proven ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing teams.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with expertise in modern data architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and real-time data processing.
- 5+ years of experience working with healthcare data, including a strong understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- 3+ years of experience in an agile environment, driving iterative development, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels, including senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a track record of driving innovation, operational excellence, and enterprise scalability.
- Proven ability to establish and optimize data engineering processes, frameworks, and best practices to enhance data quality, integrity, and observability.
- Exceptional organizational, planning, and project management skills, with the ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives and deliver high-impact solutions.

The salary range for this position is $175,000 to $195,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and internal alignment.
