The Senior Manager of Data Governance will lead the development and implementation of data governance strategies to support the organization's data management objectives. This role is critical in ensuring data integrity, accuracy, security, and accessibility across all business units, enabling the company to leverage data as a strategic asset. The Senior Manager will work closely with stakeholders across IT, compliance, legal, and various business units to establish policies, standards, and processes that foster effective data governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance Strategy : Develop, lead, and execute the data governance strategy in alignment with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.
Policy Development: Define and implement data governance policies, standards, and practices to ensure the consistent and compliant management of data assets.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various business units, technology, analytics, compliance, and legal teams to align data governance initiatives with organizational objectives and to promote data stewardship.
Data Quality Management: Oversee processes to monitor and improve data quality across the organization, establishing data quality standards, and ensuring they are met.
Data Catalog & Metadata Management: Implement and manage a data catalog, establishing processes for metadata management, data lineage, and data classification.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all data governance initiatives are compliant with relevant data privacy laws and regulations, such as CCPA,CPRA, etc.
Data Governance Tools: Select and implement data governance tools and technologies to support effective data management.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data governance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and data stewardship.
Performance Measurement: Define key metrics to measure the success of data governance initiatives and report on progress to executive leadership.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with data assets, ensuring robust data protection and cybersecurity measures.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in related discipline (i.e. Computer Science, Data Management, Information Technology, or Information Systems.) with 8 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
- The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6years' experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years' experience; or 12 years' experience in lieu of a degree
- 3+ years' experience in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles, metadata management, and data stewardship.
- Proven experience with data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
- Experience in implementing data governance programs in large, complex organizations.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in data governance (e.g., DAMA Certified Data Management Professional, DCAM).
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architectures.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements (CCPA, CPRA, etc.).
USD 119,600.00 - 199,400.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $119,600.00 - $199,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
