Senior Level Scripter

As a Senior Level Scripter on Squadron 42 you will be working as part of a larger Design team to help create and implement cutting edge gameplay within a meticulously crafted, single-player cinematic adventure. Squadron 42 offers diverse and exciting gameplay challenges from start to finish, so join us and help us to create something truly special.

What does a Senior Level Scripter do at CIG?

• Implementation of mission flow and logic within our proprietary engine and visual scripting software.
• Work as part of a strike team to tackle critical areas of the game and help push the overall quality of our single player campaign.
• Critically analyse and improve the efficiency of existing logic, making more robust where applicable.
• Utilise our different engine and visual scripting tools to bring gameplay sequences, AI behaviours, combat encounters and puzzles to life.
• Support and mentor more junior members of the Level Design team, teaching better workflows, design philosophies and maintaining a positive attitude.
• Implementation of feedback from Design leads and balancing content based on playtesting.

What do we expect from a Senior Level Scripter?

• Experience shipping at least one AAA title, including working knowledge of what it takes to bring a level to a shippable standard.
• Demonstratable knowledge of modern game engines (such as Unreal Engine 4/5, CryEngine or Unity) with examples of personal/professional work or group projects showcasing visual scripting and layouts.
• Excellent understanding of Mission Design and the ability to create robust logic that withstands destructive testing.
• Able to easily work with others in a friendly and positive environment, communicating vision between departments and the ability to give/receive feedback willingly.
• Highly pro-active with good organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and self-manage their own time, often unsupervised whilst delivering consistently high-quality standards.
