Position Overview
The Senior Cloud Network Architect will participate in architecture design and reviews, occasional pre-sales calls as subject matter experts, escalations, and internal initiatives. You will be expected to be a thought leader at RapidScale and, therefore, highly knowledgeable about the technical aspects of our cloud services and the industry.
At RapidScale, we provide assessment, design, build, management, and professional services to a diverse range of clients. We build highly resilient, secure, automated, and cost-efficient environments on our hosted cloud and on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. In this critical role, you'll help us achieve these goals for our clients and play a significant part in enabling RapidScale to meet our ambitious growth targets.
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities (Essential Duties include but are not limited to):

  • Develop and maintain multiple cloud environments.
  • Lead Priority one calls as needed and provide support on escalated cases when necessary.
  • Review entire environment and execute initiatives to reduce failures, defects, and improve overall performance.
  • Document architectures, procedures, and processes for use by other cloud operators.
  • Work with other Cloud and Network Architects to provide support, implementation assistance to drive initiatives and complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Support Sales and Solution Engineering teams in sales opportunity and product development.
  • Change the network configurations as needed for optimal security, performance, stability, and connectivity.
  • Perform network configuration work across multiple data center and multiple customer environments in multi-tenant clouds or create & maintain network, support, escalation and architecture documentation.
  • Coordinate and communicate upgrades, changes, maintenance, and troubleshooting sessions.
  • Execute network-related initiatives to reduce failures, defects, and improve overall performance.
  • Assist internal and external customers with troubleshooting of the RapidScale networks


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 8 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6years' experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years' experience in a related field; or 12 years' experience in a
  • Knowledge of Network Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP, HSRP)
  • Expertise with Network Infrastructure implementation, operation, & upgrades on network devices.
  • Proven expertise with network and infrastructure design, implementation & operation both on-prem and within hyper-scalers.
  • High level of competency in managing technical projects.
  • Willingness to work on a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule.
  • Ability to solve problems that are complex in scope, requiring in-depth evaluation and the ability to identify problems in advance, and propose solutions.
  • Works well with others and can collaborate, delegate and coach other team members
  • Operates effectively in a fast-paced, positive, high-energy environment.

  • SD-WAN Technologies, VMWare Velo-Cloud, Fortinet, Meraki
  • FortiNet Firewalls
  • VPN configuration
  • VMware Experience (vSphere, NSX, vCD, ESXi)
  • SolarWinds, PRTG, Grafana or any other monitoring tools
  • SNMP and Syslog
  • Scripting (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Perl, Batch)

USD 142,100.00 - 236,800.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $142,100.00 - $236,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
