We're looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer in Tel Aviv-Yafo who is passionate about designing and building high-performance, scalable backend systems and agents. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to how we collect and process critical database metrics in a modern, cloud-native environment.

As a Senior Java Engineer, your work will directly impact our ability to gather precise, real-time insights into database performance. You'll be crucial in developing the core backend infrastructure and the sophisticated agents that fuel our observability platform. You'll tackle challenges related to data collection, processing at scale, and system performance.
You'll work in a small, autonomous team backed by the resources and expertise of a global observability leader. This is a high-impact role with significant ownership over critical Java-based components.
As a Senior Java Engineer on our team:
• You will design, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance backend systems in Java.
• You will develop and enhance our Java-based agents to collect precise and detailed metrics from database applications.
• You'll implement and optimize multithreaded Java applications for maximum efficiency and throughput.
• You'll work extensively with messaging systems like Kafka and other pub/sub technologies to build resilient and scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines.
• You'll contribute to the architectural design and evolution of our backend services and data collection mechanisms.
• You'll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data science peers to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• You'll ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our core Java components.
What will help you succeed
• 7+ years of experience in Java backend development.
• Deep knowledge and extensive experience with multithreaded development in Java.
• Strong experience designing and building scalable, high-performance backend systems.
• Proven experience with Kafka or other pub/sub messaging technologies.
• Experience with agent development, instrumentation, or data collection from external systems is a strong plus.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Passion for creating clean, tested, maintainable code.
• Agile mindset and experience working in cross-functional product teams.
• Bonus: Experience in data-heavy applications, database internals, or observability is a strong plus.
• Proficient English communication skills.
