Our solutions are built and delivered in our proprietary Helium technology framework and deployed at scale across Sub-Saharan Africa, primarily in Vodacom and M-Pesa footprint markets.

What makes this work meaningful is where it lands: in the hands of more than 6 million primary producers, 5,500 clinics processing patient data, municipalities recovering utility revenue, and millions of citizens accessing government services. When we say we deliver at scale, we mean it — 39 million vaccination events managed, over 100 million laboratory test results processed, and more than USD 2b farmer payments processed across the continent.

We are a subsidiary of Vodacom, but we operate on an OEM and network-agnostic model. We bring the right solution to every market and segment we enter, regardless of carrier.

What you will do

You will form part of the Technology team that develops and maintains the rapid application development platform (Helium Rapid) as well as the Java based framework used for application development (Helium Flex).  These platforms are used by Mezzanine’s product developers to develop the products that we take to market.

You will be contributing to the architectural design and own the technical excellence of the products. You will develop and communicate the use of ‘best practice’ during product development and contribute towards the technical development of junior product developers. 

We are looking for an individual that is a great team player, problem-solver and quick learner. The ideal individual will be someone who is dependable and dedicated to their work.

What you need

• 10+ years overall experience in information technology.
• 10+ years’ experience in development.
• 5+ years’ experience in Java development.
• 10+ years’ experience working with SQL databases, ideally PostgreSQL.

Advantageous

• Experience in Java
• EE candidate
