Manages teams of technologists with a focus on resource management, workforce planning, and issue resolution. This job description does not represent a comprehensive listing of job duties that are required of the employee performing this role.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute technical and business projects, coordinating efforts across multiple stakeholders to achieve project goals and deliverables.
- Develop and implement detailed analyses to identify opportunities for process improvements and increased project efficiency.
- Utilize data-driven insights to support continuous improvement initiatives and optimize project outcomes.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and coaching skills to cultivate and build high-performing teams.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Facilitate problem-solving sessions and drive issue resolution within and across teams.
- Act as a mediator to resolve conflicts and ensure alignment among stakeholders.
- Offer leadership support to small groups and teams, ensuring they are motivated, focused, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Implement strategies to enhance team dynamics and performance.
- Manage regional variations in resource management, including recruiting, hiring, workforce planning, and contractor engagement.
- Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of resources to meet project and organizational objectives.
- Coordinate across various stakeholders to resolve moderately complex issues, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Provide targeted coaching and support to technology teams, enhancing their capabilities and performance.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
Any additional responsibilities or functions that will be provided by the MBPS Management Team or the Manulife Business Unit as deemed necessary in the course of the business operations.
Ideal Qualifications
- Extensive leadership experience with a strong emphasis on service delivery, project execution, and process improvement.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams to achieve business and/or risk management objectives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and interpret complex data to drive decision-making.
- Exceptional facilitation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Experience in resource management, recruiting, hiring, and workforce planning.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships, engage and influence others, work with a diverse internal and international user community, as well as vendors.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to be sensitive and professional when communicating across geographical and cultural boundaries.
- Ability to adapt to regional variations and manage diverse teams.
- Familiarity with technology coaching and support.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively simultaneously, while managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines
- University degree or college diploma in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
