This role is based in Evendale, Ohio and sits within GE Aerospace’s Risk & Compliance / Information Assurance and Security organization. The ISSM supports classified (National Security) computing environments embedded within legacy programs, test cells, production facilities, and laboratory environments—including standalone, isolated, and specialized/embedded systems that support long-lived platforms and physical test/production infrastructure.

The role interfaces closely with internal IT/OT stakeholders, program security, site leaders, and external U.S. Government partners including Security Control Assessors (SCAs), Authorizing Officials (AOs), and Program Security Officers (PSOs).

Role Overview

As the Senior Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM), you will lead the Information Assurance (IA) posture for classified information systems supporting legacy programs, test cells, production, and labs. You will be responsible for the Special Access Program (SAP) IA posture across these operational and manufacturing environments, ensuring secure, mission-ready systems.

You will provide leadership and oversight to a geographically dispersed IA team, ensuring alignment to GE Aerospace security objectives and ensuring compliance to applicable requirements. The successful candidate will bring expert working knowledge of NIST information system protection policies and Risk Management Framework (RMF) procedures/tools as prescribed within the Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG), with demonstrated ability to apply those requirements to industrial control systems, test equipment, and specialized lab/production computing environments.

Key Responsibilities

RMF Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the RMF SME supporting National Security computing environments across legacy programs, test cells, production facilities, and labs, including standalone/isolated/specialized systems. IS Program & Policy Ownership: Develop and maintain a formal information system security program and policies for assigned areas of responsibility. Implementation Guidance: Develop and oversee operational information systems security implementation policy and guidelines. Government Liaison: Serve as GE Aerospace primary liaison to DoD SCAs, AOs, and PSOs supporting legacy programs and test/production operations. JSIG / NIST Expertise: Demonstrate expert knowledge of JSIG and NIST 800-series publications, applying requirements appropriately to production/test/lab environments. Operational Leadership & Oversight: Provide regulatory direction to internal IT staff executing day-to-day operations and large-scale projects; provide direct management of an internal team of ISSOs. COMSEC Awareness: Demonstrate solid knowledge of COMSEC policies/procedures and safeguarding/implementation practices as applicable. Assessments & Inspections: Participate in regulatory reviews and formal self-inspections across production facilities, test cells, and labs; support cross-site inspections at other GE Aerospace facilities. Continuous Monitoring: Manage, maintain, and execute a robust continuous monitoring program to sustain accreditation posture and reduce risk.

Required Qualifications
  • Education/Experience (must meet one of the following):
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and minimum 8 years of professional experience, OR
    • Associate’s degree and minimum 11 years of professional experience, OR
    • High school diploma and minimum 13 years of professional experience
  • Information Assurance Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Information Assurance
  • Certification: CISSP, CISM, or equivalent DoD 8570 IAM III security certification
  • Clearance: Must possess an active DoD Top Secret security clearance based on a Tier 5 (T5)/SSBI
  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
