Job Summary

The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for executing all day-to-day human resources activities at the facility. This role serves as the primary on site HR resource for employees and leaders, ensuring consistent implementation of HR programs, policies, and processes across the full employee life cycle.

The Senior HR Generalist provides hands-on support in payroll administration, employee relations, benefits administration, staffing support, workers’ compensation, compliance, and employee engagement. This position requires a strong on-site presence in an operational environment and regular interaction with employees across multiple shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Human Resources Operations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee HR questions and issues.
  • Execute daily HR administrative functions, including employee records management, documentation, and data accuracy in HR systems.
  • Support payroll administration through timecard review, corrections, audits, and coordination with payroll partners.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and ongoing employee support.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and practices across all shifts.
 

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Manage day-to-day employee relations matters, including attendance, performance concerns, workplace behavior, and policy interpretation.
  • Conduct objective, fact based investigations related to employee complaints, policy violations, and performance issues.
  • Partner with leaders on disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
  • Support leave administration (FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other leave programs) in coordination with HR leadership or designated partners.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
 

Staffing & Onboarding

  • Support staffing activities by coordinating with hiring managers and recruiting partners.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for site hourly operations positions, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer processing, and pre-employment requirements.
  • Execute all aspects of new hire onboarding, including I-9 and E-Verify processing, background checks, orientation, and required documentation.
  • Ensure consistent onboarding experiences and follow-up with new employees across all shifts.
 

Workers’ Compensation, Safety & Reporting

  • Coordinate and manage workers’ compensation claims, incident reporting, and related documentation.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and required safety records.
  • Support site environmental, health, and safety initiatives from an HR perspective.
 

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Support and execute employee engagement and communication initiatives.
  • Serve as a visible and accessible HR presence, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Assist leaders with employee recognition, engagement activities, and retention efforts.
  • Provide HR support as needed to address employee concerns across multiple shifts, including occasional off-shift availability.
 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain HR reports and metrics as required.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources experience.
  • Prior experience supporting HR operations in a manufacturing, distribution, or operational environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, payroll support, benefits administration, investigations, and compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; Paycom experience preferred.
  • HR certification (PHR or SHRM CP) preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.

Skills Required
