Job Summary

The HRIS Data Analyst is a senior individual contributor role within the HRIS function, responsible for delivering advanced reporting, analytics, and data visualizations using the UKG platform. This role partners closely with HR Business Partners and the HRIS team to translate complex business requirements into meaningful reporting solutions, dashboards, and actionable insights.

This position requires strong HR domain knowledge, deep analytical expertise, and hands-on experience with UKG reporting tools, including IBM Cognos Analytics and Power BI. The analyst operates independently, owning complex reporting solutions while supporting strategic HR decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Analytics

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex HR reports, dashboards, and visualizations using UKG and IBM Cognos Analytics
  • Analyze workforce, compensation, turnover, compliance, and operational HR data to identify trends and insights
  • Translate ambiguous business requirements into scalable, repeatable reporting solutions
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of HR data across all reporting outputs

Data Visualization & Storytelling

  • Develop executive-ready dashboards and visualizations using Power BI and UKG reporting tools
  • Apply data visualization best practices to present complex information clearly and effectively
  • Create visual narratives that enable HR Business Partners, HR leadership, and HRIS team members to understand reporting requirements and recommend analytical solutions.
  • Standardize reporting layouts and visualization approaches where appropriate

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners to understand reporting needs and analytical questions
  • Serve as a consultative resource for interpreting HR data and explaining insights to non-technical audiences
  • Collaborate with HRIS team members to align reporting outputs with system configuration and data structures

Systems & Process Support

  • Act as a subject-matter expert for advanced UKG reporting and analytics capabilities
  • Support continuous improvement of HR reporting processes, documentation, and report inventories
  • Perform data validation and quality assurance to ensure the accuracy and integrity of HR Reporting
  • Support, but not own, HRIS data governance and reporting standards

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years focused on HR analytics, reporting, or HRIS
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience developing complex reports in UKG
  • Strong experience using IBM Cognos Analytics for HR reporting
  • Proven experience creating dashboards and visualizations using Power BI

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human resource management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of HR data, metrics, and reporting concepts
  • Expertise in data visualization and analytical storytelling
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, and data analysis techniques
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex reporting deliverables end-to-end
  • Experience working with global organizations or multi-region workforce data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Portfolio / Demonstration Requirement

  • During the interview process, candidates will be asked to demonstrate dashboards, reports, or visualizations they have personally developed
  • Examples may include Power BI dashboards, UKG reports, or other HR analytics visualizations

Work Environment

  • Fully remote role based in India
  • Must be able to work U.S. Pacific Time business hours
  • Operates in a collaborative, fast-paced HRIS environment

  • Experience supporting large-scale HRIS environments or HR system transformations
  • Experience working directly with HR Business Partners or senior HR leaders to define reporting requirements and present analytical findings
