As part of a matrix RDD organization, and within the Design Engineering function, Graphics and Packaging is large-scale team focused on the design and development of customer facing graphics and packaging solutions for all Dyson products. Based in Philippines Technology Campus in Philippines, this is part of SEA functions that delivers graphics and packaging from concepts to applications of the robust solutions that can be efficiently manufactured at scale.
About the role
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for understanding and taking the approved design direction created by the NPI & Commercial creatives and producing the final production ready artwork for all market variations required.
- Responsible for ensuring the design direction is maintained throughout, making any appropriate creative decisions and suggestions to deliver the required vision.
- Responsible for delivering production ready graphic solutions from innovation driven creative and direction and meeting the production requirements as per established guidelines and datelines.
- Act as guardian to the visual communication of Dyson Creative teams (DP&E & Commercial), following direction but leading improvements in graphic deliverables.
- Manage and maintain the momentum and consistency of creative quality across category base on the Dyson Brand book.
- Ensure all creative artwork approved on the given timing & released to Operations team to progress in timely manner.
- Artwork production such as boxes, literatures such as instructional content, compliance warning content, quick start content, on product graphics (tampo’s, stickers and moldings)
- To produce accurate print-ready artwork files to the specification and timescales defined and support the Pre-Production Manager in related tasks, which shall include in particular, but not limited to the following:
- Provide a higher level of input to projects, based on the greater level of experience and knowledge gained through the graphics and print industry.
- Responsible for the accuracy of files produced from creative scamps and/or templates prior to repro, generating separations and taking through to print.
- Develop skill base and technical knowledge of system software used on a day-to-day basis and assist in maintaining the upkeep of day-to-day file management and hardware.
- Provide solutions to possible technical issues that may occur during a job.
- Maintain consistent working style within brand guidelines.
- Confidence to approve all work from a creative perspective and in briefing imagery team including 2D illustration and approving final work.
- Work with potential suppliers, and our Print Production team to provide rapid turn-around in the development of credible proofs.
- Responsible for the creation of Studio guides, and internal standard, organize and manage files and folders across job numbers on the server network.
Qualification & Technical Requirements:
- More than 5 year of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Communication - Ability to communicate confidently and clearly at all levels, with credibility and gravitas (both in written and verbal format).
- Highly experienced in Microsoft Office, Adobe – eg Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat etc.
- Ability to facilitate design reviews and drive productive outcomes.
- Creative input – be able to take key assets from guidelines, style guides and existing pack formats and adapt to suit different formats.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, along with good typographical and layout skills.
- Experience in managing artwork/design with multi-lingual and retouching/visualizing techniques is advantageous.
- In-depth technical knowledge and understanding print production and reprographics.
- Experienced in managing quality assurance process and quality controls throughout project lifecycle. Advanced knowledge of Asset management and pdf workflows.
- Print ready file checking artwork separations, Preflight.
- Strong understanding of POS and packaging mechanics.
- Possess comprehensive Print knowledge, technical knowledge of Photoshop, IT Systems knowledge and Prepress knowledge.
- Knowledge and experience of working on multi-lingual projects.
- Proven track record of commercial artwork with experience in print production.
- Highly motivated, internally driven individual with good communication skills, good planning and organizing capabilities and able to work within a team.
