We are looking for a Senior FinOps Analyst to drive cost transparency, accountability, and optimization across our cloud and AI environments.
You'll sit at the intersection of Finance, Product, and Engineering, turning raw billing data into decisions that engineering and product teams can act on.
This is a strategic, high-visibility role with the opportunity to shape the future of FinOps in the AI era- from cost visibility to using AI to modernize FinOps itself.
What you’ll do
- Own the cloud cost reporting cadence: track spend trends and KPIs, highlight the key drivers behind significant changes, and translate findings into leadership-ready reporting.
- Partner with Engineering, Cloud Ops, and Product teams to turn cost insights into action and hold teams accountable to budget and efficiency goals.
- Present clear, accurate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership.
- Translate requirements into cost KPIs and financial planning inputs; drive continuous improvement in cost visibility and governance.
- Investigate cost anomalies flagged by our monitoring tools, partner with engineering teams to identify root cause, and validate findings
- Build and maintain cost dashboards highlighting KPIs and the key drivers behind significant cost changes.
- Track and improve unit economics, connecting cloud and AI/ML spend to business and usage metrics.
- Monitor and analyze AI/GenAI infrastructure costs as a distinct and growing category of spend, applying FinOps principles to this new cost domain.
- Identify and drive savings opportunities: rightsizing, waste elimination, Reserved Instance/Savings Plan coverage, and commitment strategy.
- Support financial planning: forecasting, budget vs. actuals, and variance analysis for cloud infrastructure spend.
- Maintain and improve FinOps tooling (e.g., Finout or equivalent cloud cost management platforms), including data validation and quality checks.
- 5+ years of experience in FinOps analysis, or cloud cost analysis
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP cost and usage data (Cost Explorer, billing exports, or a third-party FinOps platform such as Finout).
- Strong data analysis skills; proficiency in SQL and Excel.
- Good understanding of cloud pricing models (on-demand, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, committed use discounts).
- Experience with cost allocation, tagging strategy, and chargeback/showback models.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical cost data into business-relevant insights for both engineers and executives.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a SaaS or ad-tech company at scale.
- Experience with AI tools to create automated FinOps processes.
- FinOps Foundation Certified Practitioner (FOCP) certification.
- Familiarity with anomaly detection and forecasting tools/methods.
- Being introduced by an AppsFlyer team member
