First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking an experienced, collaborative, and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Financial Reporting, Planning & Analysis team. 

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (hours may vary)

Compensation: 

The pay range for the role is $72,000 - $92,000/yr; commensurate with experience. 



Responsibilities

Responsible for preparing external financial reporting deliverables, including quarterly and annual reports filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.  Leads the preparation of additional annual regulatory reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory guidelines. 

Serves as a key liaison between the External and Regulatory Reporting teams by performing reconciliations and analytical reviews across reports filed under different reporting frameworks to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment. This position collaborates closely with internal business partners across the Bank and external auditors throughout the reporting process. 

Ongoing responsibilities also include assisting with earnings call presentations, investor presentation materials, and preparing variance analyses and financial insights for senior executives. 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Three (3) years of experience preparing and analyzing financial statements and other financial information required
  • Five (5) years of experience preparing and analyzing financial statements and other financial information preferred
  • Experience within the financial services or banking industry, including exposure to regulatory reporting preferred
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including preparation or support of Forms 10‑K and 10‑Q
  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional business partners and external auditors
  • Experience in financial calculations and applying financial analysis techniques
  • Knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Possesses sufficient experience to efficiently identify, interpret and implement accounting and regulatory changes
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail, including the ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and profit and loss variance analyses with accuracy
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 with the ability to create complex Excel worksheets
  • Ten-key proficiency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a highly regulated environment
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement with minimal supervision
  • Ability to build trust and handle confidential matters judiciously
  • Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy to create quality deliverables
  • Proven successful collaborator among peers, management, external and regulatory reporting auditors
